Chapter 6
Five vampires remained while the other six were nothing but, dust and robes. Jason put a wall of air around them. One of the vampires attacked but, his attack went around Airi and Jason. The air pushed the vampires attack away from them. Airi reloaded her twin pistols and Jason put the wind wall down. Airi continued to fire at the remaining vampires. One by one, the vampires fell victim to Airi's bullets. When the last vampire fell Airi started to wobble on her feet. She gripped her arm where the blood had crusted over. Jason helped Airi balance. Airi was breathing heavily and was fighting to keep her eyes open.
"Airi are you alright?!" Jason asked worriedly.
"I-I'm fine, just tired." Airi responded, shrugging Jason off. Jason ran a hand through his hair in annoyance.
"Just let me help you." Jason pleaded with Airi.
"No, I'll be fine."
"Why won't you trust me?"
"You may have noticed by now that I don't trust easily."
"Kinda hard not to."
"I'm like this to protect myself from being hurt."
"I won't abandon you."
"I believe you but, I don't know. Something is holding me back."
"I won't abandon you!" Jason yelled at her.
"Okay, you can come with me..."
"What's the catch?"
"You can come with me... If you can keep up." Airi laughed as she jumped off of the thirty storey building. Jason ran over to the ledge and looked down, watching Airi free fall.
"Airi!" He yelled after her. Airi just laughed in response. She tucked just before she hit the ground and rolled out. She stood up and was perfectly fine. Jason wasn't game to test his abilities or his chances on a thirty storey building free fall. He dashed down the emergency escape ladder and met her out the front.
"You could've been killed!" Jason yelled at her.
"Now, now. Like I said, if you want to come along you gotta keep up." Airi teased.
"I swear your gonna be the death of me." Jason sighed as he scratched his head. Airi giggled and ran off towards the bad side of town.
"Airi wait for me." Jason called after her.
Jason easily kept pace with Airi's running. Airi jumped over a gate that led to the entrance of a fancy hotel.
"Airi we are probably not allowed to be here." Jason cautioned.
"It's okay. My contact booked a room for me here."
"So, just who is this contact of yours?"
"Just a very good friend that I saved a few years ago."
"Your not going to tell me anything else, are you."
"Nope. Not gonna breath another word about them."
"Fine, I won't even bother asking anymore."
"Good, and just so you know that trick, the one were you say that your not going to bother asking me and I just end up telling you doesn't work on me, I'm just saying for future reference."
"Really? Dammit." Jason whispered in slight annoyance. Airi laughed at him. Airi walked up to the service desk and drew a symbol on the counter. The man nodded and gave her the key. Jason and Airi walked into the elevator and went to the top floor. Jason followed Airi down the hall. They stopped at the four hundredth room. Airi inserted the key card, after a few seconds the door beeped and opened up for them. Airi walked in first. She placed the key card on the kitchen table.
