"Millie?", I broke the silence that we had been sitting in for the past 10 minutes.

She turned her head towards me from the desk she was sitting at, raising one eyebrow she lightly shook her head.

"Oh um, am I gonna go to school with you? Or just hide here all day", my voice shook as I spoke.

"Well it would make more sense for you to join me at school, but there's one problem", she sighed turning back around in her chair.

"What's the problem?", I asked her inching closer to her from the spot I was sitting at.

"Everything", she chuckled, "if someone took one look at the way you were dressed now, you'd be a goner."

I looked down at myself, I had on a old jean jacket, a plain white shirt, and some black jeans with plenty of holes.

"Yeah", I trailed off looking out her window, "and about the bracelet?"

"Well, I have lots of them from the many times I've broken one, I'm sure if you wear one they won't be able to tell the difference", Millie replied back as she closed whatever was on top of her desk and swivelled around to face me, "as for the clothes, I think I might be able to find some", she looked me up and down before placing her head on her hand.

"Ok, thanks", I gave her a short smile, "but there's still one problem, I've never been to school."

"Relax Finn, it'll be fine, the teachers rarely call on anyone", she reassuringly replied, "and if they do, just guess", she shrugged her shoulders as she moved from the seat and walked over to the window.

I nodded my head and looked down at the bed that I was sitting on. The fabric was soft, I didn't know what it was made out of, probably something expensive.

"Millie?", I looked up at her, she was leaning on the window looking out over the street.

"Yeah Finn", she replied not moving her gaze away.

"Thank you-for helping me", I stuttered, "no one has ever done anything this kind for me."

"Your welcome, I'll help you as long as you keep your promise, if you tell anyone you aren't from here the deals off", she turned her head to me with a cold stare.

I nodded my head towards her, "ok".

I looked back down at my hands, they were covered in dirt and blood from when I crossed the bridge.

"Bathrooms down the hall to the right", Millie shrugged pointing down the hallway.

"Oh uh- thanks", I stood up from her bed and walked out of her room.

I placed my hand of the cold door handle and pushed it open, the door closed behind me as I stood there in awe.

Beautiful marble walls melted in with the black floor tile, there was a shower with a sliding glass door in the corner.

I slipped my shoes off and tossed them to the side before stepping forward.

The tile was smooth and cold. I grazed the smooth wall with my fingertips as I walked closer to the shower door. I brought my hand away from the wall and pushed a sliver button on the glass door.

A small mechanical hum rhythmically sounded as the door slid open, allowing entrance to the shower.

I pulled the rest of my clothes off and stepped in, immediately a cold stream of water hit my back and flowed into the drain.

The water rose to a warm temperature as the glass fogged up, I turned around with my head hanging in the stream of water.

Dirt and blood pooled at the bottom of my feet before flowing into the silver drain. All the grime washed off me, I picked up the bar of soap and relentlessly scrubbed my hands until they were bleeding.

I moved my head fully under the shower head, the water turned brown from all the dirt that was hiding in my hair.

I moved away from the shower head and pressed the sliver button on the inside of the door, the water shut off quietly and the door slid open.

There was a white towel laying at the foot of the door along with some clothes and a bracelet.

I walked over and picked up the towel and wrapped it around my waist, the clothes were boring black sweat pants and a white shirt.

There was only one person who could've brought them in here, Millie. I felt my cheeks heat up at the thought of her.

I felt embarrassed and nervous, I hope she didn't see me, or that would be awkward.

I dried my hair off with the towel and slipped into the clothes she had brought me. The clothes I came here with were still tossed to the side, I picked them up and folded them.

I wasn't just going to throw them away, I mean I really liked that jacket. As for my shoes, well it was probably time to find some new ones anyway.

I pushed against the door and walked out, the air outside the bathroom was chilly.

Millie's lights were still on, I walked into her room and looked around.

"How was your shower?", Millie asked walking out from her closet.

"Oh it was fine, thanks for the clothes by the way", rubbing the back of my neck I walked further into her room.

I looked towards Millie, she had changed out of her clothes and was now wearing a light pink shirt and shorts.

"Take a picture it'll last longer", Millie smirked.

I broke my gaze and looked out the window, "good thing it's Sunday tomorrow, we'll have time to get me ready for school", I taunted.

"Yeah, a whole day to fix that", Millie circled around me with her hand and laughed, "I guess for tonight you can sleep with me, since you don't have bed."

I froze as Millie walked closer to her bed and sat down, "are you sure?"

"Are you scared or something?", she teased, "c'mon it's fine."

Millie patted the spot beside her as she pulled back the blankets and laid down.

I nervously walked over and laid down on the right side of the bed, making sure that I left her with plenty of room.

"Goodnight Finn."

"Goodnight Millie."
