The red and blue lights flashed off the side of the white houses as the siren became closer and closer.

"Oh shit", Caleb sighed as he stumbled backwards on the pavement, "we gotta go."

Gaten and Noah practically tripped over their feet as the siren became louder, trailing after Caleb they barely made it around the corner.

I looked to Millie, red and blue reflected onto her face showcasing all her features.

"What are we going to do", I asked placing my hands over my head, "Millie what-"

"Shut up", she breathlessly replied as she gripped my arm and pulled me over to the empty field across the street.

"Millie they'll see us, I can't go back you have to understand that, they'll kill me", I frantically looked around trying to figure out where the police were, "Millie!"

"Finn relax, I know what I'm doing", she tugged on my arm, "just-follow my lead and don't ever bring this up again."

"What-", I felt as if this was all in slow motion, looking to the left there were two police officers in the standard black and grey suits, "Millie they're here."

"Showtime", Millie muttered looking back and forth between the police officers and me.

"What are you..."

My words trailed off as the police officers pointed to us from across the street whispering to each other as they began walking.

Suddenly my heartbeat was in my throat, I could feel my hands going numb from the amount of fear coursing through me.

I looked back down to Millie, her eyes shifted from the street to mine.

"So this is how I'm going to die", I shrugged trying to lighten the mood.

"Follow my lead and don't ever speak of this to anyone ever again", Millie muttered under her breath as she moved closer to me, almost against my chest.

Perplexed I furrowed my brows and shook my head, I didn't know what she was doing, how was I supposed to know?

She snaked her hands over my shoulder and up to the back of my neck, I felt her run her hands over the curls of my air as she closed the space between us with a kiss.

The sound around me seemed to fade away, everything felt still...for once. Our lips move in sync with eyes closed tightly, I can feel the heat of her breath against my cheek as she deepens the kiss. The lingering smell of her perfume, the one that was sitting on her desk, fills the air around us.

I smiled against the kiss, wrapping my arm around her waist I pulled her even closer than she already was. The only problem was that it felt like a dream, but it wasn't, it was all too real.

Millie pulled away leaning her forward ever so slightly against mine, her hand traveled down to my shirt as she gripped the collar tightly, our chests moved rhythmically as we both breathed heavily.

"They're gone", Millie released my collar with a tug as she backed away.

"Was that part of your plan?", I asked still trying to catch my breath, "you kissing me? Or was that just another way for you to torment me?"

"See for yourself", Millie smirked looking over her shoulder, "it worked didn't it?"

"I guess it did", I replied gazing above her head to the spot where the police car was, but no longer is, "we still have a problem, what are we going to do about your house? I don't think it's safe to go back there."

"We need to, or they'll know something's up", she shrugged, "let's go back, I'm sure they'll be gone by now."

I nodded in agreement, "I'll catch up with you in a second, go ahead."

Millie smiled looking me up and down almost as if she thought I was joking, shrugging her shoulders once more she turned around on the heels of her feet and began walking down the sidewalk.

A half hearted laugh escaped my lips, I felt the blood rush to my cheeks as they pinked up.

Now I know what you're thinking, how am I already falling for a girl I barley know?
