"What's the pack?", I asked.
Millie dropped what she was holding and sat down on the ground, "it's a group of boys at the school, they get away with anything they want", she shrugged.
"Oh", I replied sitting down next to her, "what are their names?"
"Well there's Caleb, he's the leader and he gets in trouble, a lot", Millie sighed, "and there's Gaten, he's not too bad but he's friends with Caleb so people stay away from him."
"And then there's Noah", Millie mumbled, she shivered at the mention of his name as a hurt look spread over her face, "he's the goody two shoes of the group, but then again, Evelin e has their secrets", Millie rolled her eyes and stood up.
"Oh, well this is gonna be fun isn't it", I tried to lighten the mood, Millie looked dazed.
"Millie, is something wrong?", I reached out to touch her shoulder but she turned away from me.
"I'm fine", she smiled while blinking back tears, "I'll go find you one of my bracelets", she shielded her face from me as she rushed out of the room, leaving me alone.
"What was that about", I muttered under my breath.
"Ok here's one, just wear it on your wrist at all times and don't draw attention to it", Millie blurted out while snapping the bracelet onto my left wrist.
"Thanks", I gave her a short smile.
Millie nodded her head and turned her attention to the small window, "Finn?"
"Have you ever loved someone?", Millie sighed.
"No, no ones ever stuck around long enough for that to happen", I walked closer to her so we were standing side by side.
"I loved Noah, for 2 years I loved him with my whole heart", she said holing back tears, "and you wanna know how he re pays me?"
Millie turned towards me, tears were rolling down her cheeks, "he announced in front of the whole school, that I was a weirdo who stalked him for 3 years."
"After that day, he started hanging out with Caleb's group, I'm pretty sure he had to say that so they would befriend him", Millie wiped the remaining tears off her face and took a deep breath in, "that's why I don't have many friends, people think I'm a stalker."
She half heartedly smiled as her lips quivered.
"Well I'll make sure to teach him a lesson if we see him tomorrow", I nudged her side.
"Ok", she smiled a bit brighter, "but if they beat you up it's not my fault."
I let out a small laugh and looked to Millie, she was looking right at me with her big brown eyes.
"Ok, well you've got everything you need for tomorrow, I'll give you my ID in case you need to text me or anything during school", Millie picked up my wrist and waved her hand over mine, "your band doesn't work the same as mine, it will pass as a real one during the scans but it can't open anything."
She let go of my wrist and waved her hand over hers, "and now I have your ID, so I can contact you if I'm ever in trouble", she cheerfully replied.
I rubbed my fingers over the smooth metallic bracelet, it had a metal band with a very soft clear bump in the middle, I'm guessing that's what they scan.
"Millie?", I dropped my wrist, "thank you, for helping me with everything."
"No it's fine, this is part of the deal", she brushed off my thank you, "once you get your half of the deal, we won't have to see each other again", she breathed in deeply and smiled.
Millie's smile quickly faded, she turned away from me and began to walk out of the small room.
I couldn't help but feel a small tinge of pain, was this all just a deal to her?
Did she not feel the small pain staking connections I felt every time I looked at her?
