A bright beam of light shone down from the tall window, my eyes fluttered awake.
I took in a small breath before realizing where I was, my arm was tucked neatly beside Millie who was still sound asleep.
Millie shifted slightly in her sleep, she rolled over leaving me with enough room to pull my arm out without waking her.
I slowly pulled the covers off my legs and swung them over the side of the bed.
The soft floor comforted my sore feet as I stood up, I made my way over to the window and peeked out.
The bright sun shone across my face, the street was silent. There were no police cars, security or anything, I thought they would've found me by now.
I sighed a breath of relief and closed the curtains, Millie was still asleep.
Her hair was a complete mess and her face was smushed against her pillows, I chucked at the sight of her.
She scrunched her face and pulled the covers over her head, "why are you up so bloody early?", she croaked.
Millie groaned as she pulled the covers off herself.
"I like watching the sun come up in the morning", I replied back, "it was my favourite part of the day."
Millie sat up in her bed, "where's my phone–oh right you smashed it".
"Yeah sorry about that", I nervously said.
"Doesn't matter, I'll buy a new one later", she shrugged, "are you hungry?"
"Starving", I clutched my stomach. A smile crept into Millie's face as she rolled her eyes and stood up.
"Follow me, I'll find us some food", she walked into the hallway and turned to corner to the left.
"Sit down", she pointed at the white bar stools.
I pulled one of the stools out and sat down, her kitchen was spotless. Everything was in its place and the countertops were clean of any messes.
"Wow, your home is amazing", I gawked looking around.
"Thanks", she smiled.
Millie walked out of her pantry with some cereal, she opened one of the many cupboards and grabbed two white bowls and placed them on the countertop.
"Thanks, I could've gotten it my–", Millie pushed the bowl towards me and smirked.
"Yeah, like you would've known you're way around the house", she walked around the counter up and sat down beside me.
"So for today, we're going to have to teach you some manners-", she looked me up and down and rolled her eyes, "and the rules."
"Whatever you say, princess", I teased as I took a mouthful of the cereal.
Millie smacked me hard on the back cashing me to spit the cereal out all over the counter top.
"Congrats Millie, I almost choked", I wiped my mouth with my sleeve and stood up, "where are the paper towels or whatever?"
She pointed to a drawer by the oven, I walked over making sure to step over my puddle of milk.
The rags were all grey and white, I scoffed and clutched a grey one and turned around.
I quickly cleaned up my mess and tossed the rag into the sink.
"Well I think I'm done with breakfast", I sighed sitting back down, "so about school."
"What about it?", Millie replied through spoonfuls of cereal.
"Well what are you gonna tell the teachers, your friends?", I questioned.
"I'll tell them your my cousin", she shrugged, "and relax, I don't have many friends."
"Gee wonder why?", I sarcastically replied as I rolled my eyes.
"Knock it off, or I'll throw you back outside", she smacked the back of my head and placed her bowl in the sink, "follow me."
She jumped off her seat and started to walk into a part of the house I hadn't explored.
"Here's an extra school bag, and one of my bracelets", she handed them both to me and turned back around.
We were in a empty room, it had come boxes cluttered in a corner and one closet, she was sifting through the closet when she came to a stop.
"Ok here is the school uniform, wear this at all times unless you wanna get detention", Millie dropped a pile of clothes at my feet and folded her arms.
"There's only one rule you need to know", Millie sighed as she looked into my eyes.
"Whatever you do, don't mess with the pack."
