"I feel like I'm about to throw up."
I clutched my stomach as we walked out of the classroom, conversations swarmed around us all with the same topic.
Did you hear about the boy who escaped over the bridge?
Everyone was talking about it, even the teachers. During Cobra AP, the teacher addressed it and even gave tips on how to find them. It only made me sick to my stomach to stay in that class, I can't imagine how everyone else can sit through it.
"You ok?", Millie asked placing her hand on my shoulder, "you look like a ghost."
"No I'm not", I replied pulling her hand off my shoulder, "how can you sit there and listen while they talk about all the bad things that my people have done."
"It's what they've been telling us since we were little", Millie sighed, "once I met you I realized that a lot of what they're saying isn't true, you're different than I thought you'd be."
Millie turned towards me and smiled, I felt my cheeks heat up as I smiled back.
"What do we have here, two lovebirds?"
Millie and I stopped walking, standing in front of us with his pack, was Caleb, and he looked furious.
"Back off Caleb", I scoffed, "what do you have to gain here?"
Caleb laughed as he pushed me backwards into the hallway, "Listen here newbie, you may think you're cooler and more popular than me, but trust me I can make you're life a living hell."
With one final shove he backed away making sure to take one final look at us before walking off in a different direction with Noah and Gaten.
"He definitely doesn't seem upset about this morning", I sarcastically remarked, "let's keep going before he comes back again."
Millie answered with a nod as we quickly ran to catch up with our class.
"I don't know how you're able to make yourself come to school every day, I've only been here once and I already hate it."
Millie walked alongside Sadie and I, the final bell had just rung signalling that we were all to head home for the day.
"What was your old school like?", Sadie asked.
"Oh it was -", I stammered as I tried to coke up with an answer, "it was fine, but not as dramatic as this school."
"You've got that right, Caleb Noah and Gaten make me want to die by just seeing their faces", Sadie laughed.
We reached the bottom of the concrete stairs but this time we headed a different way to avoid the security.
"Where are we going?", I asked as I pushed branches out of my face.
"Somewhere special", Millie replied with only a glance in my direction.
The sound of the voices slowly faded into the forest. Sadie was struggling to keep up so I decided to walk with her, so she wouldn't feel alone.
"Hurry up you slowpokes were almost there", Millie peered over her shoulder and quickly glanced at Sadie and I.
"Alright, here we are."

well this chapter was poorly written so don't mind any of my typos
this story is moving along so slowly but I promise it should start getting into the main plot line soon
