But God knows

That when shit gets too tough

For his so-called proactive mind

He finds his eyes closing

And lips murmuring

To a father

He suddenly realizes

Could suddenly revive him

From his greatest fear:

Lack of control...

And sinking deep

Into reactivity

And drowning deep

In his self-pity,

Self-loathing,

Self-doubt.

They both know

What he does is wrong,

But they both know

Old habits are tough

To shrug off.

I'm pretty sure...
