"ugh i really don't want to go to this new school." i say to connie  laying down on my bed. ever since we've returned from california, everything has been ok. my mom has seemed different, even with charlie. which is really odd.
"same and coach won't even be our coach anymore." she sighs sitting at the edge.
"come on, we are going to see hans." i say grabbing my skates. i've been actually really close with hans since o have gotten back. i go there almost everyday with charlie, he's like that grandfather that i've never had. me and connie tie up our skates and make our ways to hans' shop. as we skate through the streets of minnesota, i ask connie the question that has been on my mind.
"hey connie, do you think that there will be other girls trying out for the hockey team?" i ask as we skate up to the front of the door.
"most likely, we do live in minnesota." she says as she opens the door. i let out a small laugh as i skate over to the hans who's sitting on the opposite side of the cash register.
"hey girls." hans says with a smile.
"hey hans" i say jumping up onto the counter.
"how do you two feel about gordon working for the good will games?" hans asks.
"i mean i'm happy for him, but i don't wanna lose him." i say with a pout.
"i don't blame you , ella. he's been a father figure for you all of your life." hans says putting a hand on my shoulder.
"i just hope our new coach is like coach." connie says.
"yeah me too." i sigh. charlie comes walking in the door. he's gotten way taller since the games, him and ava have been going out since the day we won the championship, isn't that so cute!
"hey charlie." hans says.
"hey hans." charlie says sadly.
"hey twinnie, what's shaken bacon?" i say standing on my tippy toes to wrap my arm around his shoulder. he laughs and puts and arm around my shoulder.
"what's up twinnie."
"so why so sad?" hans asks charlie.
"coach. why is he leaving us, he's been with us for four years and now just like that he's gone." charlie sighs with frustration.
"this is true, but we have to be happy for gordon." hans points out.
"you're right hans." charlie sighs.
"i know i'm always right." hans says back. we all laugh.
"let's get going, mom says she wants us to meet someone." charlie says.
oh no.
" oh ok bye hans." i day giving him a hug.
"bye ella. bye charlie. bye connie." he says as we skate out. as we skate home , i can't help but wonder who i'm about to meet.
