Luciano, in his fit of rage, left the castle rather quickly, taking his favorite horse, a black hair coated one named Drusus, to the Kirkland residence. The Kirklands had been a close family friend of the Vargas for centuries despite not being of noble descent. They, however, did increase in status over the years, becoming very wealthy. The family managed to stay humble though, which earned them a great deal of respect from all, including the royal family. Out of the six current family members, there were three that stood out above the rest: Aurora Britannia, James Alban, and Oliver.

Aurora Britannia, commonly known as Mama Britannia due to her motherly and amicable nature, was the mother of the family. She carried a calm and proud air about her, but she was very much down-to-earth. Her hair was long, wavy, and strawberry blond. Her complexion was of a peachy tone and freckles littered her face across her cheeks and nose. The eyes she had were a very vibrant blue.

Her husband, James Alban, was the head of the family naturally. In contrast to his wife, James was very fun loving and emitted a permanently excited air wherever he went. His hair was dark red, as was the patch of hair on his chin, which wasn't quite a goatee or a beard. He had forest green eyes and tanned skin.

Finally, there was Oliver, the youngest son of four of the Kirkland family. He took after both his parents in terms of behavior, both fun loving and motherly despite his male gender. He had his mother's complexion, freckles and all. He didn't very much like his freckles though, so he often covered them up with a powder before leaving his own house. His hair color was the same as his mother's as well as his eyes, but they were more of a sky blue and oddly enough swirled with a cotton candy pink when angered.

Now, it hadn't taken Luciano very long to reach the Kirkland residence as he had pushed Drusus to run as fast as he could. Once at the cottage in the woods, Luciano dismounted and allowed his horse to roam in a meadow nearby with a few other horses that belonged to the Kirklands to graze on the luscious green grass. The prince jogged up to the cottage door and knocked on it, trying his hardest not to bang on it out of his still spiked temper. Aurora came to the door and opened it.

"Ah, bless my lucky stars. Luciano, what a surprise. Please come in," she greeted with her slight accent.

        "Ciao Mama. Thank you."

Luciano stepped inside and gave her a kiss on each cheek and a hug. Aurora returned them and led him into the kitchen where Oliver sat at the table, fiddling with a wedding ring on his left ring finger. He looked up when he heard footsteps and smiled as his mother and Luciano stepped into the room. Luciano sat down across from the cheery Brit with a heavy sigh as he relaxed a bit. That wasn't enough to relieve the tension he felt, so he did the only thing he could think of that might help. He banged his head against the table and left it there. Oliver had jumped at the loud thud and gave the young Vargas a questioning look.

"Is everything alright Luciano?" Oliver asked in a concerned tone.

Luciano mumbled something, his words being muffled by the table.

        "I'm sorry, what was that?"

"I said that I hate my grandfather..." he said as he picked his head up off the table.

"Oh dear... What happened this time to make you say that?"

        "He was being an asshole!"

        "Watch your language..."

        "Scusa, but it's true!"

"Well, elaborate a bit. Just saying that he was being a meanie doesn't exactly explain much."
