Three weeks had passed, leaving about three months left until yours and Luciano's wedding. Dawn was rapidly approaching, letting all vampires know that it was soon time to go to sleep. You and Rema had gone to bed long already, having been exhausted from completing many wedding preparations that night. Luciano, Flavio, and Romulus had all stayed up for an hour or two after the two of you had left to sleep to have wine infused blood to help them relax before they themselves would go to bed. No words were exchanged between the three men as they sipped on their beverages. Luciano was reading a book as he drank, Flavio was sketching an outfit for himself, and Romulus was staring at his half empty glass as he absentmindedly swirled the dark crimson liquid. He seemed in a trance-like state as he continued to let small waves of the drink wash over itself, climbing up the glass' side only to fall back in on itself. The silence of the early morning was abruptly interrupted by a blood curdling scream. The men stopped what they were doing immediately. Romulus dropped his glass of blood, the cup shattering as it hit the floor.

        "Rema..." he whispered.

He started running in the direction of their shared bedroom, his grandsons not far behind him. By the time they reached the room, a group of butlers and maids had already gathered, blocking the entrance to the door. Some looked terrified while others just shook in place. Other maids and butlers were running around, shouting orders in various languages to each other. Romulus pushed his way past them and turned away quickly with a hand over his mouth. Tears pricked at his eyes before he turned back to look at the sight in front of him. Rema laid on the ground, her eyes wide and full of terror. Her mouth was slightly open as blood trickled slowly out of her mouth and on to the wooden floor beneath her, collecting in the already large pool of blood. She had multiple stab wounds to her torso. Presumably a final stab was given to her heart seeing as though the knife was still stuck in it, propping that section of her body up from the floor ever so slightly. Romulus walked to her and dropped to his knees.

"Gattina...? Per favore non morire. Prego fingere questo... Non posso vivere senza di te... Tu sei la mia luna... Sveglia..."

He pushed on her shoulder gently. She moved with the motion, but returned back to her previous position. Romulus spoke a little louder to her and shook her. She gave no response. Some of the medical staff the barged in and gently removed Romulus so they could take her to go see Karen. Luciano stared as his grandmother's corpse was carried past on a stretcher.

"Nonna..." Flavio whispered as he observed her state.

Luciano's bottom jaw went slack as he looked around. He didn't see you anywhere. His eyes widened in realization. You would have been there in a heart beat for Rema if she ever screamed like that, but you were nowhere in sight.

"(Y/n)... (Y/n)!" he shouted before bolting off towards your apartments.

"Fratellino, wait!" Flavio cried as he tried to grab his younger brother's shoulder to pull him back, failing to do so ultimately.

Luciano didn't hear him as he raced to find you. Once at your room, he opened the door quickly and screamed. You laid on your bed face up. Just like Rema, you suffered from multiple stab wounds to the torso. Unlike the older woman though, you had more wounds than her, many of which were centered around your lower stomach. Your heart was also cut out of your chest, missing as well. You had cuts all over your face and blood dripping down the side of your face. The sheets were soaked in the thick, red liquid. The Italian ran to you and pulled you against his chest. He sobbed as he talked to your rapidly in Italian.

"Non anche tu... Non due persone che amo molto in una notte... Sei in uno stato peggiore della nonna... Le probabilità di essere effettivamente vive sono sottili... Si prega di fare qualsiasi tipo di movimento a mi faccia sapere che stai bene..."

You made no movements. He clenched his teeth tightly as he moved some of your hair out of your face. He saw a glint coming from your exposed chest and reached to grab it. Luciano immediately recoiled his hand with a his.

        "Silver..."

His discovery was put aside as nurses came in from hearing his scream. They had a stretcher and attempted to gently pry your body away from him. Luciano hissed in return at them and held you closer. They tried a second time, which had the same result. One of the nurses sighed and called in some guards. They showed up within seconds and tried to force him off of your body. He hissed at them as well, his eyes glowing brightly. He looked back down at your body and kissed your forehead before shutting your eyes using his fingers.

"Riposa in pace, amore mio," he whispered before letting the guards drag him away from your corpse so the nurses could take you to join Rema's.
