Chapter Twenty Six

Nadine's POV:

"Miss Coyle? Hi!"

"Hi, has she been ok? I couldn't get here any earlier!"

"Yeah as far as i know, she's been with Lily i think."

"Oh right. Good, i'll see you later then!"

I wave off Rebecca as i make my way to Cheryl's room after checking downstairs. Kimberley was very worried when she rang, her mind constantly going back to Cheryl's problems.

"Chez? You in?"

I walk in anxiously, half expecting to find Cheryl in floods of tears but surprisingly she's sat up on her bed laughing away with Lily.

"Oh hi Nads, come in! This is Lily!"

I introduce myself again, giving Lily a brief smile before turning my attention back to Cheryl.

"You been ok babe?"

"Yeah."

She smiles, looking to Lily then back to me.

"Well i should be going, nice to see you again Nadine!"

Lily smiles at me before standing up and heading straight to the door, figuring there's something wrong, i follow her out.

"What's happened? Has she been ok?"

"Well when i came in, she seemed quite down and upset but i cheered her up a bit. I'm no 'Kimba' but i tried."

"Yeah, she gets pretty attached to her."

"I've noticed, is anything, you know, going on between them two?"

"Well they have always been pretty close friends, a special bond i guess? Why?"

"Oh right, well i'll see you later."

She smiles and walks off down the corridor looking too happy for a mental patient. I walk back in where Cheryl's scribbling away in a notebook.

"Hey you, what are you up too?"

"Nothing, nothing."

She repeats, closing her book and moving it under her pillow. Must be a diary?

"Do you know how long Kimba's gonna be?"

"Another hour at the most, Sarah and Nicola are coming up with her."

"Okay."

"Is Kimberley stopping here tonight?"

"Yeah! Well she said so but she doesn't think so tomorrow night."

I notice how her eyes lit up when she mentioned her sleeping tonight, maybe something is going on?

"How come she isn't tomorrow night?"

"I don't know? She can't stop two nights in a row, can she?"

"I could stop if you want me too tonight?"

I ask, seeing how far i can take it.

"No, it's ok. Kimberley's stopping tonight."

"Yeah well we both could, a little sleepover?"

"No Nadine, you don't have too!"

"Well i want too! It might be fun?"

"No you don't want to spend the night in this place, it's not very nice!"

"I don't mind or Kimberley could go home and i could just stop?"

"NO! Nadine it's fine honestly!"
