Chapter Seventeen

Kimberley's POV:

It's been a long four days, trying to spend as much time as possible with Cheryl before she leaves. We've all agreed to not tell Cheryl anything about it until she's actually there but Nadine and Nicola have spoke to both Tre and Ashley. I turn to a sleeping Cheryl beside me, happy she's finally settled and no longer throwing up like earlier today after taking her medication. Her face has a frown still fixed on but her breathing is still at a normal pace, i roll away from her, sick of feeling guilty.

"Kimberley? Kimba, babe?"

I hear Cheryl whispering, outside looks pretty miserable, matching my mood for today.

"What's up?"

I turn towards her, wiping away at my eyes before seeing her shaking slightly.

"You ok?"

"I want to go see Ash today"

"We're gonna all go out today but yeah, you can go see him after if you like? Are you ok?"

I ask again, seeing her being even more further from herself.

"I just had a weird dream, i'm fine"

"Okay, well why don't you get ready and i'll make us some breakfast?"

"Ok, love you Kimba!"

She suddenly announces cheerfully, leaning over and kissing my cheek.

"Love you too chez"

As she goes to shower, i quickly drag her case i packed when she went out with Nadine in the week and go put it in the car for Sarah to move into hers when she arrives.

"Where've you been?"

Cheryl questions when i get back up to the flat, the only time she showers quick when i'm trying to do something without her knowing.

"Just thought i heard something. The girls are coming round for 10, so i'm gonna get ready"

She nods, taking her breakfast into the room with a cup of tea. I get myself ready and come out to see Cheryl laughing hysterically.

"What's up with you?"

"God, Kimba have you seen this?! She's hilarious, i love her!"

She continues laughing at the girl on tele while i go to answer the door, hearing it knocking through Cheryl's laughter.

The girls all smile sympathetically as they come in and greet Cheryl before Sarah drags us all downstairs and into the car.

"So where are we going?!"

Cheryl laughs as we set off down the country road, i swap worried glances with the girls before sticking a smile on my face and looking back towards Cheryl. She looks so happy which makes everything so much worse.

"It's just somewhere out of town, i think"

She nods her head and starts talking to Nicola who's beside us in the back seats.

"God Sarah have you any good CDs?! The radio is awful!"

Nadine moans after flicking through many radio stations, getting angrier by the minute. She roots through the compartment near her seat pulling out a load of CDs, most of them being ours. She puts one on and immediately the whole car is filled with the familiar songs along with us all joining in.

I recognise the same route, we're getting very close.

I see Nadine also becoming more nervous but she tries to cover it up and turns around to keep Cheryl talking so hopefully she won't see the signs.
