Chapter 3

Melanie's POV

I woke up to my dog barking like usual to be let out to go to the bathroom, so I got up to let her out then went into the bathroom and got in the shower, when I got out I wrapped a towel around me and got my clothes. I walked downstairs and walked out of the house. I didn't have a car so I had to walk, while I was walking a car honked and I turned to see Belle waving out the window

"Hey stranger need a ride" she said and I laughed

I hopped in and sat next to a little girl, she looked at me sideways and smiled

"Hi cutie whats your name" I asked and she giggled

"I'm Eli" she said smiling

"Nice to meet you" I said shaking her little hand

"It's short for Elizabeth" Belle said and I nodded "Why were you walking anyways?"

"I don't have a car" I said and she oohed

"This is Lizzy, she's kinda upset" she said and Lizzy pouted

"Oh whats wrong" I asked and she turned around

"The guy that I like is ignoring me" she said

"Maybe he's just trying to find out if he has the same feelings for you, just ask him" I said and she nodded

"Sounds like a good idea to me" she said

Belle dropped off Eli and drove to school, we all got out and Lizzy walked over to her friends. I walked with Belle to her locker, she put her stuff in it. Travis and his friends walked over to us

"Hey Melanie, how are you today?" Travis asked

"Fine" I said and looked at Belle who was looking at the ground

"Well I was wondering what you were doing Friday" he asked

"I don't know, what are you doing Friday Belle" I asked and she looked at me

"Umm I..I don't know" she said, then the boys snickered

"Leave her alone, just because you guys are football players doesn't mean you have to be dicks" I said and they looked at Belle

"Sorry Isabelle" they said

"So you guys wanna go to a party Friday" Shawn asked

I looked at Belle "I don't mind" I said and he smiled which made me blush. Belle raised her eyebrow at me and smirked

"We'll be there" Belle said and the boys nodded and left

"What was that about?" I asked and she started laughing

"You like Shawn, don't you" she said and I blushed again "Aww that's cute, now we're definitely going to that party" she said 

"You like partying?" I asked and she shook her head

"No, but if it gets me a little bit of acknowledgement then might as well" she said and I sighed

The bell rung and we walked to class, we got to class and sat down in are usual place, then Shawn and Travis sat in front of us. The class went by fast and before I knew it, it was lunch. This time I was with Belle and we walked in the cafeteria together. she got an apple and I got a salad.

Belle's POV

We sat with the cheerleaders and they looked at me not mean, but just looked "You know you're not ugly, why don't you just wear contacts" one of them asked

"Thanks I think and I don't know why I just never thought of it I guess" I said and they nodded

"Well I'll take you to get some today" Melanie said

"You don't have to do that Mel" I said and she shrugged

"I want to you're my friend" she said and I smiled

"Thanks" I said 

"So do you like music or anything" one them asked me

"Well yea, I'm not that nerdy. I love to dance and stuff" I said and they smiled

"Try out for the cheer squad" Margo said and I shook my head

"No, I only dance when I'm bored" I said and Mel shook my arm

"Please Belle, you'll probably do great and I help you with a routine" she said and I sighed

"Fine, I'll do it" They all cheered and I laughed

The bell rung and it was time to go to class, for some reason I didn't wanna learn anything today. I got into class and sat at my desk and stared at the clock. It was now after school and Mel was gonna come with me to get my contacts, hopefully I don't look too different without my glasses. We got to the glasses store and I told them my name and they gave me my contacts. I put them in my bag and we rode back to my house, we walked inside and put our bags down, I grabbed the contacts out and went into the bathroom downstairs. I put them in and looked in the mirror, I don't even look like myself. I walked out and Mel was sitting on the couch with the girls and when they saw me their eyes lit up

"Belly you look different" Eli said

"I know, Mel can you watch the girls, I have to go to tutoring" I said, she scrunched her nose

"What class are you failing" she asked

Oh, I'm not failing any, I have to tutor Travis" I said and she smirked

"Have fun, but not too much" she winked and I laughed

"Whatever" I said then walked out of the house....
