Chapter 8

Isabelle's POV

When I woke up the next morning I smelled bacon and syrup. Are my parents home? they couldn't be. I jumped out of bed and walked downstairs, when I walked in the kitchen I stopped, Travis was standing there with his back to me. The girls were sitting at the table eating, he turned around and looked at me and smiled

"Morning?" I said slowly 

"Morning sleepy head" He said 

"This must be a dream, I'm gonna go back to bed" I said and they laughed

"You're not dreaming, you don't remember what happened yesterday" he asked 

"Ohhh, but why are you still here" I asked still confused

"You told me to stay" he said and I scrunched my nose

"I did? I must been half asleep again" I said and he chuckled

"Well go get dressed, Shawn called and said that Melanie was awake and wanted to see you" he said and I nodded 

I walked back upstairs and got dressed, then went into the bathroom and brushed my hair, cleaned my face and brushed my hair. I walked back downstairs and Travis was sitting on the couch watching sesame street with Eli. I thought it was really cute, he looked and smiled at me. I blushed and looked down

"You ready to go" he asked and I nodded

"Lizzy watch Eli, we'll be back" I said and she nodded

We walked out to the car and got in, he drove to the hospital. Once we got there I got out and walked inside, I asked the nurse which room she was in and walked to it. I opened the door and walked in and when she saw me her eyes lit up, I gave her a big

"How you feeling Mel" I asked

"I'm ok, Shawn has been with me" She smiled

"That's good, you look comfortable" I said and she scoffed

"I hope that was a joke, this is not comfortable and I'm hungry" She whined

"I'll go get you something to eat" Shawn said and left with Travis

"So what did you and Travis do yesterday" she asked

"Honestly I don't remember" I sat on the edge of the bed

"I think he's starting to like you" I laughed

"No, I highly doubt that" I said and she shrugged

"Well, the doctor said that nothing was broken, so I could leave in awhile" she said and I smiled

"Good, I brought you some clothes" I handed her the bag and she hugged me

"Thank you Belle" She said in my hair, I pulled away

"You don't have to thank me for anything" I said

"But I want to, if I hadn't met you then I probably would be a snotty cheerleader and I wouldn't have been friends with Shawn"

"Well then you're welcome" I smiled

The boys came back and Mel went to go changed, she came out and ate. She signed out and we left, Shawn drove my car and I went with Travis. I was staring out the window, we got back to my house and when I walked in I heard laughing. I walked into the living room and saw my parents, I ran to them hugged them

"Hi Izzy, how have you been" I smiled at my dad, but inside I hate when they ask that like they never see us; which is true

"I've been good" he smiled and looked behind me, I turned around and forgot that Travis, Mel and Shawn were standing there "Oh mom, dad this is Travis, Mel and Shawn" I said

"Nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs Canty" Shawn said

"You too, so you guys are Izzy's friends" My mom asked, they all nodded

"How long are you guys staying this time" I asked expecting them to leave tomorrow

"Oh, umm not for awhile, like three months or more" My dad said and Lizzy squealed

"That's great" she said

"My friends and I will be in my room" I said and walked up the stairs

We got to my room and I closed my door and flopped down on my bed, Mel sat next to me, Shawn and Travis sat in the chairs

"When was the last time you saw your parents" Shawn asked

"Uhh, a month" I said leaning on my elbows

"Dang that's long and they didn't even notice you're missing braces and glasses

"When my parents do come home, they spend time with Eli or Liz" I shrugged laying back on my bed

"Well then that means you have more freedom" Travis said and we all looked at him "What?"

"Do you think, not spending time with my parents is fun, it's not" I said

"Sorry" he said and I sighed

"I know, we should go to the amusement park" Mel said jumping on my bed

"You just came out of the hospital and now you wanna go to the amusement park, girl you are crazy" I said

"It's fun and we don't have to go today, we can go tomorrow, that way I can rest up" she said and I shook my head

"Fine, what about you two" I asked Travis and Shawn

"Sounds fun" Travis said

"Yea, we should get going" Shawn said standing up

"I'm staying the night" Mel said and I nodded

"Well Travis, can you give me a ride" Shawn asked and he nodded

 We waved bye and they left, I heard them say bye to my parents and the door closed, I looked at Mel and she was giggling

"Why are you giggling" I asked

"Wha- nothing, you just wait until tomorrow" She said

I didn't want to ask, she smiled and kissed me on the head and left out the room, I changed into my pajamas and climbed into bed. I watched my favorite movie Pride and Prejudice, I fell asleep wishing my life was sorta like that
