BE PREPARED FOR DA FLUFFIEST CHAPTER EVERRRRRR...kinda? Enjoy~))
Lance brought his hand up to his nose to wipe away said water on his face. At first he thought a dog was slobbering on him but then he realized he was in space and if anything was drooling on him the only dog like creature he could think of, was that massive purple Yupper of Slav. He knew it was stupid to think of something like that but his post dream self was nervous of anything related to the Galra. Once the bleariness cleared from Lance's eyes he registered that what was laying on him like a limp noodle was none other than the mullet man. Not just this but his neck was sore, sharp pains trailed their way through his nerves.
"Keith," Lance's voice came out with a crack and personally it surprised him.
He would have expected a comment from the man on top of him but tears only streamed down his face as he stared at Lance. Lance normally would have been very uncomfortable with the situation he was in right now, but he still felt his heart beating very fast from his terror. From the looks of it, Keith seemed to be having the same problem as he felt the palpitations of his heart on Lance's own tanned skin. It made him very alert. It sent jolts of throbbing electricity to course through him. He sensed a tug between them which almost seemed as if a tether formed, linking both warm bodies. It was otherworldly. This strange bond that now connected both paladins by their midsections; the pain could only be described as searing but it did not eat away, it only filled them. Filled the missing gap between them both.
Lance felt his adam's apple run along his neck while he swallowed and shivered at the sudden sensation that glided throughout his body, "What's wrong?"
No matter how much Lance spoke to Keith, he was stuck. He was frozen in consternation from the images flickering through his mind. Lance with blood dripping down his lips, to Lance perfectly fine and speaking to him, then back again to blood. Blood. Pain. Cries. Water. Chains. Death. A looming death that hovered underneath his own shadow since he started to live on his own. And that death followed him when he joined the paladins. A death that held no mercy and crept into his dreams like a wolf in the night. A howl or a deep cackle that echoed everywhere around him. His ears were ringing as he heard nothing but the aftermaths of an explosion. Where was he now? Was this a dream or reality? Keith was so numb.
Numb until Lance brought his warm thumb across his icy pale cheek to wipe away the remnants of his dream, "...Keith-"
Dream or reality? Keith had tunnel vision as a flare of energy washed over him like the water that had previously held him captive.
"Keith...You're worth dying for-"
Keith's body quivered and convulsed as he re-lived the one thing he wished he could forget. Body against body only initiated a sequence of horrifying events. He was between grunting anger and small ineffective sobs. His hands were constrained, he was drowning and trying to breathe for air. This was death playing the panic and fear card. The trump was Lance.
Lance watched Keith's body shake and shrivel on top of him and in a frenzy he grabbed his cheeks to get a look at his eyes which only held the most constricted pupil he'd ever seen, "Keith what is wrong? Keith do I need to put you back-,"
Keith's hearing tuned in, "-back into the pod?"
Pod. No. Not that claustrophobic thing. So stuffy and trapped.
"N-No," Keith finally choked out trying to grasp the air in his lungs as they reached for any oxygen that they could find, "Cell i-is this the cell? Where are we?"
