Hijacking Reality

Chapter 11

 His small chapped lips glistened as the water ran down his pale face in an attempt to wash away the filth that was crawling over him. Keith drank the air in one fell swoop of breath that expanded his lungs, trapping a pocket of air inside. It was refreshing to feel the burn grasp him by the buff of his chest and the cold water droplets crystallize down in a halo around his body. With shut eyes he tilted his head upward as a small smile graced only one corner of his mouth. He brought his hands to his face as he stroked his eyelashes in a gesture to wipe away the intruding sprinkle. It gave him the reassurance that he wasn't falling into oblivion.

"I'm not just any man" the words reverberated with its complementary image of Lance's face in view. A blush latched onto his cheeks from the lightly dusted memory that was extremely recent. This caused his arms to jut out in an embarrassed motion like spasm.

"God why the hell is he so corny," his heart was racing via his chest into his ears as another recollection of the previous night created a storm surge in his brain.

He whispered under his breath the start of another humiliating event, "Shove it..."

"Ha where? My mouth or your ass," Lance cracked and winked.

Keith curled into his body as he covered his mouth to hold back a quiet and surprised giggle that turned more into a grunt. His eyes focused on the floor of the alien shower. It was never noted that it held an off white hue and a circular suction looking element. Why couldn't he stop himself from thinking back to those moments that should be smothered with cringe worthy material? And of all things laugh like a heartstruck schoolgirl. He shivered as a sickness slithered about his aura.

Trying to catch a grip, he reached for the shampoo and doused a good amount into his palm applying it to his hair. He needed a vacation. With these emotions on the fritz and out of order, he didn't know if he could retain to being an arm of Voltron once again. It had been awhile since they entered their lions. He missed red so much. He missed how his hand fit perfectly on the controls and the invigorating energy he got when flying. 'Red I miss you' he tried to link up with her to see if she decided to respond.

No dice. She was ignoring him most likely since he neglected her for a few days. He would be angry if he were her too, "I'm sorry Red."

A faint snivel echoed and it broke his heart. He would have to go see her so he sped up his shower. He barely got the shampoo out of his hair since he tilted about trying to wash his body at the same moment.

The lights turned off leaving him in darkness.

To his dismay the shampoo slid into his eyes as he contracted a fierce burn that made him feel like his eyeballs were melting from his own head. Sure, that would be exaggerating it quite a bit but it was really painful. A yelp followed suit as he mindlessly stumbled out of the encasing tub without any concern of the consequences due to his ungraceful footing. With not a single speck of light dawning upon his eyes, Keith's pupils widened to take in the once joyfully lit area's new darkness and be greeted coldly by the floor beneath him.

He found himself laying there for some time in the pitch black, on the freezing floor that chilled his body with his eyes stinging from the cleaning product. When it came to that inviting twilight he thought back to drifting away calmly in space. Even so, he wasn't in space right now, he was uncomfortably naked laying on the floor in shame from his fall. So he sat up with definite new sores and bruises forming from the hasty impact to grab the towel off the toilet bowl seat. He wrapped it around himself with his trembling hands and feet. With no clothes he was stuck like this, he really wished he wasn't so flustered before entering the bathroom for a shower. Stupid Lance.
