The chapter isn't that great so I apologize but I hope you enjoy anyway. (I also did not edit...lol) I've been working 12 hours for the past week after school ended so that is my excuse for no updates

[A few minutes before]

"Pidge," Hunk's voice rasped out as he peered up from Lance's cold body, "You sure he isn't dead or something. His body is cold."

The short brown haired paladin sighed as she glanced at Hunk from behind the top of her laptop, "For the fifth time Hunk, he is not dead. His body is in a comatose state which is why he is cold. His heart rate is higher than when he was in the pod earlier. He is fine. He just needs to wake up."

"But-"

"No I said he's fine. Can't you just listen to me," Pidge grunted and went back to typing on her device.

Hunk stood up from his sitting position near Lance's bed and clenched his fists, "What could possibly be so important that you are staring at your computer instead of helping Lance?! It's not like you can update your tumblr feed from out here," he exclaimed with his hands up in the air.

Pidge's eyes narrowed at her screen as her body sunk down closer to the wall she was leaning on for support, "I am updating the notes and data I collected on this whole fiasco. Maybe if I compile enough, I can figure something out to help him. I'm not just going to mope around and wait for him to wake up from a coma. I know you're angry and upset Hunk but... this isn't you. You need to calm down. I want my friend back as much as you do."

"I-I uh," Hunk brushed his inner wrist in the hollows of his eyes that held dark rings of sleep deprivation, "Sorry...."

"Mhm."

Pidge curled in more on herself and didn't bother saying anything further; she gathered spreadsheets and noted text on her various opened tabs. It was silent in the room once again like the death that seemingly stilled above Lance's body the more that time ticked on. This disturbing quiet slipped only the softest and most broken hum she could muster. The humming wasn't enough to drown out the misery that suffocated the room in a fog.

Hunk's eyes darted to watch Pidge as her hum carried in the room. It was something she never really did.

Hunk gave a small smile, "I miss the team. Being together and stuff."

"Me too," Pidge nodded while the silence ensued but it was as deafening as earlier.

Until that is, a groan erupted from Lance's chapped lips that were in dire need of chapstick, oh and a piece of gum, or you know what, just an overall hygiene check up. Pidge shot up from her aching position on the ground that twisted her legs and numbed her tail bone, though hard to stand, she made it to the machine hooked up to her friend. Through beeps and clicks she examined his heart rate with a stiffened face of awe.

"No way," she whispered as Lance hissed and groaned and all but sat up like he had simply woke up from a dreamless sleep.

--

"Woah buddy take it easy," Hunk's hand rested on the others back, "Pidge should he be allowed to get up this fast?"

"He should be okay for now," she answered accordingly making sure that all vital's were standing strong.

"What even happened," the brown haired boy groaned and rubbed his heavy bags that he'd have to fix later via lathering on gallons of face cream, "By the pod? I don't even know who-"
