Two updates in two days! This oneshot is in James's POV, and I hope you enjoy! Also, I know this isn't exactly how it happened in the books, but it's a few cute scenes that I imagined.

Eye Contact. The first time I made eye contact with Lily Evans was on the Train to Hogwarts for the first time. She was sitting in a compartment, and I, only slightly late, ran in, and panting, asked if I could sit with her. She was curled up by the window, looking out at the beautiful owls swooping around the station.

"Sure." she said, looking up at me. I was momentarily started by her eye color, so green, as when I was younger, I learned that green equaled death. But this girl's eyes held life, and when our eyes met, I felt that this was a big moment, I just didn't know why. I sat down on the other bench.

"I'm James, by the way. James Potter." I mentioned to the silence, "And I'm going to be a Gryffindor! What house are you going to be?"

"Lily Evans. I don't know what house I am, my-my parents are muggles" Lily offered back, feeling a little ashamed. Why should she be ashamed?

"Cool. What's it lik-" I began to ask what her life was like. I had no prejudices on blood, even though I was a so called Pureblood. Just then, a boy with black hair and grey eyes burst in.

"Can I sit here?" he asked.

"Sure," I grinned at the boy, everything about him seemed to scream troublemaker. I was a prankster, and my parents he their hands full with me.

"I'm Sirius, in case you were wondering. Sirius Black." Sirius said, sitting down next to me. I froze for a moment, I had heard things about the Blacks. Evil things. I decided to wait to draw judgment, since my gut was telling me Sirius was a fun kid.

"Hey, Sirius. I'm James Potter, and this is Lily Evans." Sirius smiled at Lily, before turning to me, and asked me if I like pranking. I responded happily, and we chatted. Lily seemed to be fine sitting by the window, until another black haired boy came in. After a slight fight, they left. But before Lily and that boy left, her green eyes locked on mine. Eye contact.

Years later, Lily and I were sitting on our couch with Harry. I was bouncing him, and they were both laughing. I looked over at Lily, and our eyes met again. She stopped laughing, and sighed.

"What is it, Lils?" I asked.

"I'm just so worried, James. What if-" Lily began. We were in hiding because there was a prophecy that Lord Voldemort, the most evil person alive, wanted to kill our son, and would kill us to get him.

"Lily, Harry will be fine. We'll all live full lives." I said, putting my arm around her.

"You're right."

"I always am." I smirked.

"Watch it, Potter." Lily warned.

"I will, Potter." Just calling Lily, Potter, made me smile.

"Anyway, littlest one, I believe it is your bedtime," Lily said to Harry. She picked him up after I kissed his head. As she walked out of the kitchen, she marked October 30th, 1981, off the calendar. Later that night, Lily and I were lying in bed.

"Goodnight, Lily. I love you." I kissed her gently.

"I love you too, James." Lily whispered, and looked up at me, green meeting hazel, and we both fell asleep.
