They started fighting as he turned to me again. He had a smile but it was a sly smile as if he was supposed to kill me at this moment. I have no idea what he is waiting for. My legs broke out the ice and I sent a dagger at his face. I thought my powers didn't work in the snow? Maybe this is because I am too scared to be cold or I'm just getting so worked up that I'm sweating. He yelled and staggered backward as some crawlers started to attack me. I brought out my sword and started slicing them to pieces but my fire was slowly dying out. I was starting to get cold because I started sweating. This is not a good thing, then my fire went out completely and Nightmare walked in front of me. I burned off the side of his face and it was only a skeleton. He had been a void crawler for so long, he lost his human self? The shadows stretched across his face and he looked like new again.

"You surprised me, maybe you are what I thought you were. You are the first fire elemental to ever fight in the snow." Well, that's a good outcome in all of this. He came towards me again, however, a giant bolt of lightning came and blew him backward. Tyler quickly came to my side, he smiled at me.

"You hung up on me," I laughed.

"I was busy," he joked.

"Shoveling snow sounded like it got a little dangerous,"

"Ok, maybe I wasn't shoveling snow,"

"Lair, but I forgive you," I said with a smile.

"Great, I couldn't really think of anything else to say afterward." Nightmare stared at us with a crooked a smile once again looking brand new. Then Vaneita showed up and started throwing her dark ninja stars. Nightmare was deflecting them all and Kris was getting up from the ground as Andrew threw a boulder at the crawler that was on top of her. Everything moved in slow motion, something is wrong here. He deflected one and it was going straight for Kris. I used what was last of my head and shot a fireball at it, it only went through it. It was a smoking black ninja star and it went straight into Kris's back. She froze, then she dissolved in the air. Everyone stopped fighting and stared as her dust flew away in the snow swirling wind. Until it disappeared completely. Everyone who was near her glanced but couldn't take their eyes off long of their fight. Even me and I dropped to the ground. My smoking hands going out as I stared at the ground. I'm so sorry Kris. I wasn't strong enough, I couldn't save your life. Now she's gone... I can't believe it. She was only trying to protect me and this is what happened to her. I am not going to let her die like this, I will repay her for this. Vaneita froze tears started going down her face as she stared in horror. Then down at her hands, and Nightmare punched her in the face which sent her flying. She crashed into a tree and didn't move, the little rise and fall of her chest made me toss away the bad thought. Amethyst ran to where Kris stood, crying and yelling no.

"Now look at what you've done, you lost your leader. Now the only person keeping me from taking this world is you." He laughed looking right at me. His hands grew to a gigantic size and they grabbed me. Tyler and everyone else tried to help but a huge group of crawlers surrounded them and they started fighting. I struggled in his arms as they wrapped around me. "Now, I should say this. With you, there will be no more light in the world. Only darkness and fear will run the land. You are only the beginning of the end." He dictated and he threw me. Everything was going so fast. All I remember is flying and then crashing down hard in a bunch of trees. I stopped abruptly in a tree and I think I set it on fire. It should be a miracle if I actually live from this but maybe I should take Midnight's advice, don't give up hope just yet. As soon as I stopped my head hit the branch hard. 

Tyler's POV

All I saw was Adara flying through the sky like a rag doll until she was only a black dot in the distance. My heart fell, after everything we did to keep her safe and he just throws her away. I jumped up and shot the biggest bolt of lightning I could make right as his chest. He disappeared with an evil laugh as an echo, all the void crawlers vanished. I sunk to my knees, Adara and Kris are gone. It looks like my entire world is falling apart, why can't I do anything right?!

"Tyler, we have to go," Amethyst insisted while putting her hand on my shoulder.

"Adara," I mumbled. Her flying across the sky is repeating in my head. The last thing on her face was her beautiful smile. Anthony went and picked up Vaneita, she was knocked out on the ground. He picked her up and we started walking back to the house. I couldn't stop thinking about her, I tried so hard to keep her safe. She means the world to me and that Nightmare guy just flings her across the sky like she was some toy. She's too important, too special. I wish, no, I should always keep her safe.

"Tyler, you need to calm down," Amethyst said sternly. My lightning was going around my body quickly, sparking and swarming violently. Everyone started staring and backing away.

"I can't calm down! Adara is gone, Kris is dead and we have the dark apocalypse coming at us any second!" I shouted.

"Adara is gone?" Midnight repeated while walking behind us. I stayed silent and bowed my head. "Please tell me what happened," she pleaded.

"Adara was thrown across the state by a void crawler named Nightmare," Andrew grunted. Midnight flattened her ears against her head. We all walked on in silence, I looked in the sky and saw how dark the sky looked. It had black lightning going across the sky with dark gray clouds. When I looked back where Adara was thrown and saw smoke. It wasn't faint either, thick blue smoke rose in the distance.

"Hey, look over there," I stated. Everyone stopped and turned around.

"It looks like someone set a tree on fire," Amethyst mumbled.

"Or it could be Adara!" I shouted.

"How could she live from that? That's amazing," Midnight chimed.

"She is amazing," I said quietly.

"We have to go and get her," Anthony added.

"She's like fifty miles away, we are needed here," Amethyst dictated.

"But what would Kris say?" Andrew muttered and at the same time Vaneita woke up.

"I killed her," she whispered.

"It wasn't your fault," I responded.

"It was my ninja star, I threw it." She argued with a glassy stare. Then tears started streaming down her face as her hands started to emit a black mist. We stared at her in silence. Then Anthony hugged her making her squeak in surprise.

"You were only trying to help, it's ok,"

"And he deflected it, it would have never hit her," Amethyst added. Vaneita shook her head and covered her ears.

"I know what I did! Don't try and hide it from me!" Then turned into a shadow and disappeared.

"Oh no, we have to find her too," Amethyst sighed.

"Well you're second in command, what do we do?" Ike asked. She looked at the ground for awhile, then she looked back up full of pride.

"Tyler and Midnight, you can go look for Adara. Andrew and Anthony, you can look for Vaneita," she commanded.

"What about me?" Ike asked, she turned to him and smiled while putting her hand on his shoulder.

"You can help me with the wounded here." Everyone nodded and I turned around. "Good luck Tyler, and please, be careful and come back with her." Midnight and I raced off. I am going to protect her, I will never let her go again. She means too much to this world, and to me.
