Chapter Four
"Sweet"

"Taehyung?"
"Hm?"
"I think we should go..." Jimin said quietly, eyes darting toward the pathway a few meters away. Students passed by every now and then, laughing, talking—anyone could glance their way at any moment. "We might be late."
"Five minutes," Taehyung replied lazily.
"B-but—"
"Five minutes."
It wasn't a request.
Jimin sighed in defeat. His hand rested against the grass, cool beneath his palm, while the other lay stiffly at his side. Taehyung had leaned back without warning, settling his head on Jimin's lap like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Jimin hadn't pushed him away.
They weren't hidden. Anyone walking past the tree could see them. A couple of students glanced over, whispered, then moved on. Taehyung didn't even hesitate.
Taehyung's breathing evened out, soft snores following soon after. Jimin stared up at the sky, sunlight filtering through the leaves above them. His heart wouldn't slow down.
Is this still pretend...?
It must be. It wasn't like they were in private.
He looked down at Taehyung's face—sharp jaw, relaxed lips, lashes resting against his cheeks. His hand hovered before he could stop himself. Just a touch. Barely anything. His finger traced the bridge of Taehyung's nose.
"So... broad," Jimin whispered, more to himself than anything.
Before he could pull away, Taehyung's hand closed around his wrist firmly.
Jimin sucked in a breath.
"What are you doing?" Taehyung asked, eyes already open, gaze sharp despite the lazy tone.
"N-nothing!" Jimin blurted, face burning.
Taehyung clicked his tongue. "Liar."
He flicked Jimin's forehead, not gently. Jimin hissed, scrunching his face. "Ow!"
Taehyung chuckled as he sat up slowly. "It's just a little flick." His eyes lingered for a second too long. "You're such a baby."
"It does hurt," Jimin muttered, aiming a weak punch at Taehyung's chest. Taehyung dodged easily.
"You're clumsy and dramatic," Taehyung said, stretching his arms. "Bad combination."
Jimin looked down, embarrassment pooling in his stomach.
See? He doesn't care. This is just acting.
"Are we late?" Taehyung asked, yawning.
Jimin checked his watch and shook his head.
