Chapter 23: Kill Order

Tsuki's POV
The coldness of the floor still seems to be my only comfort as I've run out of tears. Instead of wallowing in my own self pity, I continue to stare blankly at the stone floor. But there's one good thing that came out of this, my old enemy, realization.

I finally realized that all this happened because of one person.

Madara.

If it weren't for him, I would still have Sasuke by my side. Though, if it weren't for him, I would have never realized that Sasuke never loved me. I would still be my naive little self. So, in some light, I'm grateful that he did whatever he did, but that doesn't mean I forgive him for all the other things he's done to me.

I still loathe him with a burning passion.

My thoughts come to an end when I hear the sound of echoing footsteps come near me, inching closer by the second. I'm suddenly blinded by the harsh rays of the light as someone opens the door to my self entitled prison. Just by seeing the silhouette, my body burns with a newfound hatred. Without thinking, I stand up and rush forward.

"You! You did this," I shout in anger. Even though the yelling pains and stabs at my throat, telling me to never talk again.

I throw a punch at Madara's face, but it just phases through making me fall into him. Regaining my balance, I turn around and kick him, but once again, my attempts of hitting him are useless. Losing my balance and falling to the ground, I let my messy pink hair drape over my face like a curtain because in that moment, I know. I know that I lost.

I could never defeat him, not today and not in a million years, I think as I give up.

I hear Madara chuckle with amusement. "Are you done? It seems that you, sweet Tsuki, have finally given up," he says, turning to face me.

I stay silent as the greasy locks of my hair shadow my face. I could feel his eye pierce me, waiting for my answer. Unfortunately, for him, he has to wait for a long time because I'm still feeling the stab-like sensation on my throat.

"Oh, that's right, you can't speak. At least, not for now, seeing as your neck has too much damage. Let's see, Pein sliced your throat then your beloved Sasuke strangled you, almost killing you," he chuckles sadistically.

Swallowing my pain, I look up into his eye. "What do you want," I rasp, hoarsely.

"You have a mission," Madara tells me. His Sharingan shining in the dark.

Then the next thing I know is that I'm leaving the room in a swirl. Being sucked in by his traveling method, leaves me nauseated as I feel no source of balance.

What's my mission?

Why now?

Luckily, my questions get answered when I get thrown to the floor. Well, a tree branch to be exact. The light of the sun blinds me since I spent my time in the darkness. Squinting, my vision readjusts, but in that moment, I wish that it didn't.

Across from my tree stands Sasuke and his team which is now called, Taka. Seeing as he's here, I immediately look down and focus on the branch I'm on like it's the most interesting thing in my life.
