I sat on one of the chairs in the lab, waiting patiently as Donnie finishes tending to his brothers. Raph stood next to me with Mikey on the other side. My head ached from what he did to me. Donnie hurriedly put his supplies away when he was done and joined the group, handing me a bottle of water and pain meds. I nodded slowly, thanking him, and swallowed it. Leo walked over with his arms crossed over his chest, frustrated about what happened. We all were, some more so than others.

"So..." Mikey mumbled, looking at all four of us. "Who wants to be the one to tell Angel?"

My head perked up and all three of them stared daggers at Mikey who kept the same unbending gaze on all of them. He crossed his arms.

"Cause it's not gonna be me." He said.

The three of them exchanged glances and I spoke up.

"What is he talking about?" I was so confused.

"Leo, I think you should tell Angel." Donnie said.

Leo nodded and sighed. "Fine."

Mikey, Donnie, and Raph nodded to each other and proceeded to walk out of the lab. Raph kissed me gently on my head and closed the lab door behind him.

"This is not gonna be easy." Leo muttered to himself.

I looked down then up at him. His avoided my gaze and I spoke up.

"What was Mikey talking about?" I asked quietly.

Leo uncrossed his arms. "We've seen him before tonight—on other patrols. It was sometime before you came back."

"What do you mean?" I raised my eyebrow at him.

"What I mean is, Mikey, Donnie, and Raph all saw him a few months after you left for the case. They wanted me to stay here that night during patrol. I don't know why they want me to tell you this when they have more information to give you about it." He answered.

I looked down at my hands. "So, that really was him, wasn't it?"

"He looks the like the same man, but I wouldn't know for sure if it really was him. You know him better than we do, Angel."

"Yeah, I guess so." I sighed. "It looked like him on the outside, but there was something different about how he acted."

"You mean how he hurt you?" He asked.

I shook my head. "No, that's always been normal for him."

It's so weird that I called his actions towards me 'normal' like it's nothing. I guess he really has broke me. I smiled sadly and it went away.

"I saw some kind of faint twitch in his face. It's just a hunch, but I think he's being held captive." I looked back up at him. "It's just an idea I have."

"What makes you say that?"

"Well, besides the twitch, his behavior changed in different situations."

"How so?"

"You noticed the black cloud of smoke that was on the roof, right? While I was inside it, he acted like a completely different person. A stranger. And when he was out of there, it was back to the abusive side."

"I don't remember seeing black smoke, Angel." He said.

"What?"

"All I saw was him fighting all of us."

I shook my head and stood up. "No, I know what I saw. It was there, Leo, I'm not crazy!"
