"They're worried about you, ya know." Cass took a sip of her coffee and set it down in front of her.

The sounds of the baristas talking and making coffee distracted me and I ignored her statement. She sighed knowing I didn't want to talk, and looked out the window. We were at a café nearby the next tournament that was happening in a couple hours, so it was just to speed up the time. I looked down at my wrists and pulled the ends of my long sleeve over them.

"I understand you don't want to talk, and that you feel guilty about what happened." She started. "But, that doesn't mean you should allow it to bother you so badly it's all you're thinking about."

I take a small sip of my snickerdoodle hot chocolate and set the cup on my knee that was up against my chest, while my other leg rested on the chair and my feet touching the ground.

"At least say something so I don't feel like I'm talking to a wall." She looked at me.

I avoided her gaze and spoke up, "something."

She frowned, and then pulled something out of her pocket, sliding it across the small table towards me. I looked at it and glanced at her. It was an envelope with my name written on it.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Open it." She held her coffee cup and shrugged.

"Who is it from?" I stare at her.

"Couldn't say." She responded simply.

I slide it back to her and she raises her eyebrow when I take another sip of my drink.

"What?" I spoke up.

"I'm not taking it back, it has your name on it." She said, sliding it back to me.

"Tell me who it's from." I asked again.

She put her coffee down and had a serious look on her face.

"I can't tell you, Angel. You have to see what's inside." She repeated. "Look, whoever delivered this told me to give it to you."

"Why?" I asked. "It isn't a letter sending me to a mental facility is it?"

"It's nothing like that at all. No medical letter is inside. I checked myself to make sure no one was giving me the run around." She answered. "They said there wasn't anything bad inside and that it was from a relative."

I bite my lip and debate on taking the envelope. Whatever it is, it was important enough someone had to hand deliver it to Cass. My hand reaches for the envelope and I take it, opening it and seeing it's a letter with something bulky inside.

"What does it say?" She asked.

I reach in to pull the bulky object out and when my hand touches the detail on it I raise my brow. I take it out and hold it in my hand, and my breath catches in my throat.

"Cass." She perks her head up.

"Yeah?"

"Who gave you this?" I look away from the pocket watch and stare at her.

"I said I couldn't tell—"

"Who?" I cut her off sternly.

She noticed my change in tone and looked at me.

"It came in a box full of several other letters. A note said to give you this one first. There wasn't a return address so I assumed it was a friend of yours or one of those guys from New York you knew."

It was silent and I glanced at the watch.

"It was a weird guy who brought it. Never seen that mailman before." She said.
