I tossed my keys onto my dresser and fell on my bed facing the ceiling. I ended up getting home pretty late due to marching band practices. My eyes closed and I was ready to take a quick nap before doing some homework. I heard my door open and close behind someone, and walk towards me. Ellie, my Siamese cat, was laying on my bed with me and I heard her meow at whoever came in. I opened my eyes and stared at Raph.
"Come to yell at me more?" I turned on my side so I wouldn't look at him.
He set something down on my bed. I looked over and saw it was my laptop. I must've left it in Donnie's lab.
"I was hoping we could talk." He said slowly.
I glanced at my laptop and then him, sitting up. "I think I heard crystal clear last time, Raph."
"Angel, I—"
"No." I cut him off. "I don't want to hear it."
"You've been avoiding me for two weeks, I needed to see you." He pleaded.
"I avoided you for a good reason, Raph." I said. "Leave me alone."
"I wanted to apologize." He said.
"For yelling at me? Or for hurting me?"
"I didn't mean to hurt ya, I was just really mad."
"That's an understatement." I muttered, getting up and walking to my dresser to put my clothes away.
"Okay, I have a temper! At least I'm saying sorry and apologizing for my actions. Ya father probably didn't bother to do that much." His eyes widened when he said the last part. "I wasn't meaning anything bad..."
"It's fine." I said, closing my drawer.
"No, it isn't." He took a step towards me. "I shouldn't have said that either, with him being back and all."
It was quiet between us for a moment. I didn't think of anything to say.
"I really am sorry, Angel. For hurting and yelling at ya." He said. "You were right."
I perked my head up. "About what?"
"That I was blind. Ya were telling the truth, and I was an idiot for not stopping." He lowered his head.
I turned around to face him. He stared at me with pleading eyes to forgive him. I may not have told him everything about my past with the physical abuse I endured, so he knows I'm probably afraid of him doing it again.
"How can I know for certain that won't happen again?" I asked slowly.
"Because I won't do that to you." He said. "Ya have my word, Angel."
I held my arms and looked down, thinking really hard about this. I closed my eyes.
"Fine." I said.
"What?"
I looked up at him. "Fine, I forgive you, Raph."
"Thank you, Angel."
I went back to putting my clothes away and mumbled a 'yeah'. His hands rested on my shoulders gently and I winced slightly when he put more weight on my bad one.
"Sorry." He said, taking his hand away.
I shook my head. "It's okay, just a little pain is all still."
He looked at it curiously. "It should've healed by now, right?"
I shrugged and closed my drawer. "I don't know. I've gotten a lot of scars in the past to now, and more than half of them are from my father. His cut deeper than any other person's abuse towards me, Raph."
