You need a Giver

Chapter 2

Newt awoke to the sound of the door silently closing and footsteps walking into the kitchen. He open his eyes just a smidge and his heart leap out of his chest. Tina was standing in the kitchen making a cup of coffee.

He slowly got off the couch and slowly walked up to her. Tina did not notice, she finished making her coffee and turned around to see Newt Scamander hovering by the door. She yelped and dropped her coffee on the floor, "Newt!" She whispered so she wouldn't wake up Queenie.

"Hello Tina," Newt said sheepishly, "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you." he said embarrassed.

"No no it's okay," she said hastily using her wand to clean up the mess. "When did you arrive?" Tina asked putting her wand back in her pocket.

"Just this afternoon," Newt said stepping a little closer, "I brought you your book," he said quietly pulling out a wrapped parcel from his pocket and handing it to her.

Tina eyes began to water as she unwrapped the package "Newt.." she said opening the book, "this is beautiful!" she flipped through the pages and traced her finger along the drawings. "Did you draw these?!" Tina asked looking up at him, "Um yes, I did, I just wish they turned out a bit better, i'm not that good and I just wanted to do the creatures justice but i'm afraid i sorta messed up the Nifflers tail and Pickett still hasn't forgiven me for accidentally making his head look eggish." Newt said babbling a bit.

Tina laughed, "You should really give yourself more credit these are amazing." She said smiling looking at the drawing of the Swooping Evil. Newt blushed and looked at his shoes, Tina yawned then looked at him embarrassed.

"Sorry I should be getting to bed," she said yawning again. Newt thought smiling,

Tina really is quite adorable when she yawns.

"Night Newt, and thank you for the book." Tina said walking over to her bedroom with his book in her hand, "Goodnight Tina," Newt said watching as she disappeared behind her door.

The next morning Newt woke up much earlier than the two sisters, so he decided to go and feed his creatures. He oped up his case and walked down closing the lid after he went down.

When Newt was in his shed he rolled up his sleeves and became to chop up the raw meat he had prepared for the Graphorns, then put in in his feeding bucket. "Accio," he said summoning all his creatures food and making them hover above him, after all, he only had 2 arms.

He walked out his shed with the line of creature food hovering behind him. "Morning Mary," he said to the female Graphorn trotting up to him. "Here you are girl," Newt picked up some raw meat and fed it to her. Mary gobbled it up lightning fast, "My my you must be hungry," Newt said adoringly petting the Graphorn and moving on to feed the rest of Mary's herd and his creatures.

By the time Newt had fed all his creatures it was time for breakfast. He gathered up all his things and put them in his shed then headed up the stairs to the Goldstein apartment.

When Newt came climbing out of his suitcase Tina was already at the table with a cup of coffee for her at some eggs and bacon for him. She was reading Newt's book.

"Morning Newt." She said putting down the book, he could see she was reading about Nudus.

"Good morning Tina," he said sitting himself down at the table and helping himself to some eggs. "Queenie already left to visit Jacob," Tina said

"Did she tell you that he sorta remembers her?" Newt who's mouth was full of eggs nodded "Mmhmm" Tina smiled. "I'm sorry I wasn't here when you arrived," she said "I was preoccupied with the smugglers ring case," Newt smiled

"No worries, i'm just glad your here now." Tina smiled at him and he felt his heart glow. "Hey," she said "Do you have any plans today?"

Newt thought for a moment "hm, guess not I haven't really planned anything." he said Tina smiled, "well I have the day off, would you like me to show you around New York?" she asked.

"Oh thank you Tina, but you don't have to, i'm sure their are more interesting things you could do today." Newt said "Nonsense" Tina said getting up "C'mon." she said getting her coat, Newt put his dish in the sink and got his coat on too as they walked out on to the streets of New York.
