Tina awoke that morning to find a freckled nose and a pair of bright green eyes staring at her. It was Newt.
"Morning love," he said brightly, Tina scowled "Were you watching me sleep?" she stated raising her eyebrow while Newt smiled sheepishly, "er..no?" Tina laughed and scooted herself closer to her new husband and rested her head on his shoulder. They snuggled together as Newt placed his arm around her waist. "That wasn't the first time I watched you sleep," Newt said out of the blue, a memory appearing into his head. Tina turned to him bemused and he quickly explained, "when Queenie ran away from home you were upset so I went to see if you were alright the next morning." Tina finally remembered, "oh yeah," she said giggling, "Didn't I throw a pillow at your face?" Newt smiled, "I'm just happy it wasn't your lamp." he replied, Tina snorted as Newt leaned in slowly with his lips parted and kissed her. Suddenly a low grumble came from beneath the sheets, it was Newt's stomach.
Newt's face flushed, "Sorry, guess I'm hungry." he said laughing, Tina smiled, "That's alright, we should probably get some breakfast." The couple climbed out of bed, put on some clothes and trudged to the kitchen to eat. Newt was digging through the fridge and Tina was looking through the pantry shelves for something they could use to make breakfast.
"We could make pancakes, or waffles, Queenie taught me how to make maple syrup if we found some honey." Tina said pulling out flour and sugar from the shelves. She turned to see if Newt had any baking soda, but Newt was pulling out the three tier wedding cake from the dinner last night, he set it carefully down on the kitchen table and began to cut out two slices. She watched as he sat down and began to eat one of the slices of cake with a pleased smile on his face, Tina sighed resigned because there was nothing good in the pantry and that cake really did look good. After the newlywed couple was filled up on cake they descended down the suitcase to feed their creatures, everyone was overjoyed to see them and huddled around them excitedly. Pickett was the only one not offering his congratulations to them, he was still upset that he was locked out of their bedroom and forced to sleep in the tree. Newt had tried to explain to the little bowtruckle that now that he and Tina were married they would need some time alone together, Pickett was outraged, he had tried to sneak in to the room anyways just to annoy his tree but Dougal had (thankfully) stopped him. He then took Pickett back to the case and with the occamies he had tried to occupy him so that Newt and Tina could have a little peace and quiet. Dougal was happy that Newt had found a mate, before coming to New York he could see that eventually Newt would find someone special, and he was right. Dougal liked Tina, she was kind, soft, and would read lots of stories to him and the other creatures when Newt was doing paperwork. He gazed at the happy couple as they laughed and embraced the creatures, suddenly Dougal saw a glimpse of Newt and Tina's future together and smiled. Things were going to get pretty interesting around here, he thought smiling.
While Newt was feeding the creatures, Tina worked on the garden she was creating in the case. She had started planting when she and Newt began traveling the globe together, there had been an empty patch of grass near the shed when she first arrived and took it upon herself to make it beautiful. Since then the garden has been an enjoyable hobby for Tina whenever she needed to clear her head or just be alone. Tina was watering the tulips when she noticed Newt crouching near the garden talking to Pickett, an impish grin sprouted from Tina's lips as she slowly raised the hose and pointed it at her new husband. The cold water startled Newt as he jumped up in surprise, he turned to see the culprit and found his wife snickering with a hose in her hand. He laughed picking up a nearby bucket filled halfway with water and rushed towards her, Newt poured the bucket of water onto Tina's head and smirked playfully as she screamed.
"What's wrong dear?!" he said cackling, "I thought you told me you loved water!"
The next hour was spent by Newt and Tina trying to both spray each other with water, Tina magicked the hose to spray Newt whenever he got to close while Newt would apparate from the ceiling and pour water from his wand. Both too stubborn to call quits, they played until their socks were drenched and fingers wrinkled. Dragging themselves up the steps, they dried off and got into warm pajamas. Newt put up a fire and Tina made some cocoa for the two of them as they snuggled on the couch and talked about their future together until 1AM, when Tina's eyelids began to close and Newt couldn't help but let out a yawn. He carried a sleepy Tina back to their room and laid her on the bed, they both got under the covers and began to relax.
"Love you.." Tina said softly closing her eyes, Newt smiled and kissed her on the forehead as he too drifted off to a deep slumber.
