Chapter 22

*3 MONTHS LATER*

Tina had just finished painting the walls of the nursery when a burst of pain shot through her stomach, she cried out and Newt rushed to her side. "Tina what is it?!" he asked frantically checking to see if she had somehow injured herself. Tina shook her head frantically, "No no no no no no, this can't be happening-" she babbled looking wide eyed at the floor. Newt's mouth dropped open realizing what was happening.

"The baby's coming?!" he asked excited as Tina nodded her head.

His mouth shot up into a grin, "Oh Merlin Tina this is wonderful!" he shouted hugging her tight, "But Newt," Tina protested worried, "We aren't ready to have the baby yet, I'm not ready to have the baby yet!" she said scared, Newt looked down at his shivering wife and pressed a comforting kiss to her forehead. "Tina love, it's going to be okay, I have the utmost faith in you." he said softly holding her in his arms, "you are going to be a wonderful mother and i'll be with you throughout the whole delivery." Newt continued kissing her head once more. Tina took a deep breath and nodded.

Four hours later of yelling, and pain like no other, (for both Newt and Tina, she was squeezing his hand so hard he couldn't feel anything) The Scamander baby was finally brought into the world.

"Congratulations Mr and Mrs Scamander," the healer said bringing the baby to the tired couple.

"It's a Girl."

Tina held out her weak arms in awe as the baby was passed into her hands, she was like a delicate little flower, soft to the touch and warm to hold. Their daughter had big brown eyes and already lots of freckles on her little button nose, she was absolutely perfect in every way imaginable.

Tina felt Newt sit down next to her on the bed to get a closer look at the baby in her arms, the resemblance to the two of them was astonishing, they had the same pattern of freckles and identical patches of orange hair on their heads. "Newt, do you want to hold her?" Tina asked gently, he slowly nodded as she passed their daughter into his arms. Their child wrapped her fingers around Newt's pinky as he laughed softly out of bewilderment and awe, Tina smiled sweetly at the sight of her husband and daughter and pulled him closer in a hug. She leant her head on Newt's shoulder as he continued to stare at their baby, "She's beautiful Tina.." he breathed softly not wanting to disturb her,

Newt pointed to their daughters eyes, "Look she has your gorgeous eyes," he said smiling, Tina laughed, "Well she has your adorable freckles and hair," she returned ruffling up his messy hair. He laughed pressing a kiss to her head then turning back to their child.

"So, any thoughts on what we should name her?" she asked stroking her daughter's head. Newt paused for a moment thinking.

"I think we should name her Emily." he said finally looking down at his daughter, Tina looked at him questionably, "Why Emily?" she asked,

"In Latin it means 'striving' and 'eager' the name was used for girls who were hard working, quite gifted, and shy at times." he replied then looking down embarrassed, "Or we can name her after your mother if-" Tina silenced him with a kiss, "No Newt, it's perfect, Emily.." she said looking wistfully at her daughter. Newt smiled and kissed his daughter and wife's head as a sign of affection.

A soft knock could be heard from the door, "Teenie? Newt? It's Queenie and Jacob." came out the silvery voice of Queenie Kowalski, Newt got up from the bed and opened the door. Jacob and Queenie trailed in with Jamie by her side, Queenie cupped her hands to her mouth in glee as she caught sight of Emily in Tina's arms. "Oh Teenie!" she exclaimed quietly rushing to her side, "She's beautiful!"

Jacob laughed, "What's her name?" he asked Newt. Newt looked over at his daughter with pride and smiled, "Emily Scamander."

"THESEUS! HENRY! GET OVER HERE WE'RE GOING TO BE LATE!" Shouted Hazel as she rushed down the stairs.

Henry and Theseus dragged themselves behind her yawning, "I'm getting too old for this," Henry joked lightly as his bones creaked all the way down. Theseus laughed, "Oh calm down mother, Newt and Tina's baby isn't going anywhere." he said jovially putting on his coat at a leisurely pace. Hazel tapped her foot impatiently as she was already prepared to go. Once the two men were wearing their jackets the three set off for St. Mungo's

Newt, Tina, Jacob, and Queenie were all chatting quietly when they heard shouting from the halls,

"EXCUSE ME, OOPS SORRY, COMING THROUGH, PARDON, SORRY, EXCITED GRANDMOTHER HERE!"

Newt chuckled, there was only one person in the world that was that clumsy and that loud. He opened the door to see a frazzled Hazel, tired Henry, and an embarrassed Theseus. Behind them were healers repairing crashed wheelchairs and picking up fallen potions and healers.

Hazel grinned and hugged her son tightly, "Oh Newton congratulations! I would have been here sooner but SOMEBODY took a long time to get up this morning and -" Newt laughed, "It's alright mother, no harm done." he said.

Theseus lifted an eyebrow in protest, after all their mother did just cause a lot of havoc and mess in the corridor.

The family entered the room and all 'awed' when they caught sight of Emily. "Oh she's looks just like you Newt!" Hazel said beaming at her son and his wife, "Cept she's got Tina's eyes," Theseus remarked observantly.

The family talked and chatted until it was time for Tina and Emily to leave the hospital, the couple arrived at their home tired and beaming from the day's events. Tina brought Emily to her nursery and kissed her goodnight, Newt did the same as they watched their daughter fall into a dreamless sleep.

Newt looked at her wife in amazement that because of her, they had brought this wonderful child into the world. He had never thought that he would ever be a parent, or even have a daughter, but here he was with his wife by his side and a daughter fast asleep. "If this is a dream, I never want to wake up." He thought smiling, Tina turned to see Newt staring at her and smiled as well, "What?" she said shyly, Newt kissed her head,

"I love you," he said softly. Tina smiled and rested her head against his shoulder,

"I love you too." she said as they watched their daughter sleep for a few more minutes before retreating to bed.

NEWTINA BABY HAS COME TO LIFE! *muhahaha* thank you all for the name suggestions, they were all brilliant <3 I chose the name Emily because it came to me in a dream while I was writing this and I thought it would be perfect for newtina baby <3
