You need a Giver

Chapter 14

Grindelwald was somewhere in New York, he had disguised himself as a no-maj (muggle) and was walking slowly and cautiously, there were still Aurors looking for him he must not be noticeable. He was so close to the obscurial, the power at his fingertips, but Credence was gone. Now he needed another obscurial, one without a child in its possession, like the one in Newt Scamander's case of creatures.

He walked down the staircase in the alley to face a makeup poster with a beautiful witch staring at him. He knocked three times and entered. The blind pig was filled with all kinds, wizards, witches, trolls, and a giant looming over the table. Grindelwald sauntered over to the bar and spoke in hushed tones to the house elf cleaning a mug,

"I'm looking for Gnarlack, any chance you seen him?" He asked, the house elf nodded to a table behind the giant where a well dressed goblin was smoking a cigar and drinking a giggle water. Grindelwald walked over to the table and sat down, Gnarlack never looked at him but spoke,

"So, yer looking for some information about a Newt Scamander I hear," the goblin said chewing on his cigar. Grindelwald smirked, then he pulled out a money sack from his pocket and pushed it across the table to the goblin. "500,000 Galleons," he said gesturing to the sack. Gnarlack nodded approvingly,

"I heard from a buddy over at MACUSA that he went to England with a Tina and Queenie Goldstein and a No-Maj." he said drinking some giggle water out of his shot glass.

"Sounds like they were gonna stay at a friends place or something," Grindelwald nodded, then got up and left the bar.

Newt was waiting for Tina to come down the stairs, after a pep talk from Jacob and Pickett he had gotten some magnolias for Tina and was pacing at the floor of the staircase. He heard her open the door of her bedroom and turned around to face her. "

Merlin's beard,"  he thought.

She was beautiful.

He stared at her with mouth open, he felt the flowers slip out of his hands and fall to the floor as Tina walked down towards him. She had agreed to let Queenie dress her for the date and after several choices she had decided with a beige knee length skirt, her regular white blouse, her hair was in soft waves and she had light makeup on. Queenie had insisted that she looked beautiful and now with Newt's gaping stare she couldn't help but smile.

"Hey," Tina said quietly, Newt blinked hastily as if just realizing she was right in front of him. Newt bent down and picked up the fallen flowers then handed them to her, "r-ready to go?" he said still fazed by her beauty, Tina nodded and smiled then looped her arm through his, "let's go,"

Newt and Tina apparated to the Leaky Cauldron bar,

"Evening Rupert," Newt waved to the tired barman at the counter. Newt led Tina to the back door and out onto the brick wall in the back. "Are you sure you know where you're going?" Tina said looking at the brick wall in front of her. "Have I ever led you astray?" he laughed, then pulled out his wand. Newt tapped the wall five times then stood back as the wall began to split apart.

"Welcome, to Diagon Alley."

Tina's eyes were wide open and her mouth agape. The streets were filled with shops and vendors, there were pet stores and candy shops, the whole street gave a feeling of magic.

"Mercy Lewis..." Tina breathed, Newt chuckled and led her down the street.

"So," Newt said looking at her bedazzled face, "What do you want to do first?"

Tina smiled. The two of them spent the next hour exploring the street and going into almost every shop. "Tina, you got to try these, oh! This would make an excellent holiday present for Mother, No don't touch those it can give you rashes,"

By nightfall both Tina and Newt were famished and exhausted, "That was amazing!" Tina said laughing but tired. Newt smiled, glad that she was happy. A strong breeze blew past them making Tina's hair glide along with the wind, she shivered. "Are you cold?" Newt asked softly, Tina nodded. He slowly unraveled his scarf and draped it delicately around her neck. "Thank you." Tina leant her head on his shoulder watching as the sky slowly turn dark.

Queenie was in the kitchen sipping a cup of hot cocoa when her sister and Newt walked through the door laughing, she smiled at the cute thoughts going around their heads,

"Evening lovebirds," Queenie said giggling as they noticed her and blushed. Newt closed the door behind him and sat next to Tina at the table as she read the Daily Prophet.

"Well Grindelwald still 't been found," Tina spoke scanning the front page article with a wanted poster of Grindelwald taking up almost the whole page. Queenie sipped her cocoa concerned, "I'm not surprised, he just broke out of one of MACUSA's top security cell. And with no wand too." Queenie frowned, "I hope the Aurors can find him in time," Newt nodded, "I agree, but we will all be perfectly safe here, England is the only place Grindelwald will leave alone." Newt said. Tina frowned, "How can you be so sure?" she asked. Newt smiled

"because it's where Albus Dumbledore is." He said turning the paper to reveal a moving photo of an old man with a short white beard, piercing blue eyes and a crooked nose. "Your old Transfiguration teacher?" Queenie said reading his mind, Newt smiled, "Yes he is the only wizard Grindelwald is afraid of."

Suddenly a loud knock echoed from the door. Queenie looked scared, slowly Tina and Newt grabbed their wands and approached the door. Tina reached out and pulled open the door wiping out her wand and a leg locking jinx on her tongue. A tall and broad man was at the door, Tina couldn't help noticing that he looked quite familiar, he had smooth orange hair, brown eyes, and a cocky smile.

"Hello little brother!" the man spoke,

Tina could feel Newt tensing up beside her,

"Hello Theseus," Newt said downcast.
