"Teenie!" Queenie said walking over to Tina to give her a big hug, Tina recoiled in surprise,
"What's wrong with you?!" She said laughing, "you're not usually this perky in the afternoon." Queenie smiled mischievously, "oh nothing," she replied walking into the kitchen.
Tina rolled her eyes then gestured Newt to follow her into the dining room.
Newt and Tina sat down just when Queenie came bursting out of the kitchen carrying so much food that it was a wonder none of it fell to the ground. "Queenie!" Tina said distressed, "How are we supposed to eat all this?!"
Queenie laughed, "With your mouth silly." and she began to magically pile heaps of food onto their plates.
Tina lifted an eyebrow at Newt but began to eat anyway.
After dinner Newt was feeling very drowsy from the food, not wanting to be rude he had tried a bit of everything.
Tina's head was in her plate of mashed potatoes and was half asleep all while Queenie had only taken a few small bites and was now reading a witch weekly fashion magazine.
"So, Teenie," Queenie said finally talking at last.
"Mmff," Tina replied her head still on the mashed potatoes.
"Um, I went to the bakery today." Queenie continued looking nervous at first but was slowly gaining confidence. "And I spoke to Jacob again, and he was hiring people to help work his bakery..and I got a job there." she ended looking at Tina's face in the mashed potatoes hoping for a reaction.
Tina slowly rose her head, mashed potatoes dripping off her face. "You what?!" she said, "But-but what about your job at MACUSA!?!?!" she said worry and mashed potatoes plastered on her face.
"I quit my job." Queenie looked down, "I'm sorry Teen, it's just I miss him so much and I want him to remember so I thought if I start working there then I could get him to remember us-"
Tina looked livid, "oh so by putting us all in danger!" she shouted getting up from the table. Queenie stood up too, "Jacob would never-"
"oh i know he wouldn't but if MACUSA finds out that he remembers-"
Newt was beginning to feel very uncomfortable.
"-then he would be obliviated again and we might all lose our jobs and-"
"oh so it's all about your job now isn't it?!" Queenie shouted with tears in her eyes, "you don't want him to remember cause you don't wanna lose your precious auror job again!" Queenie said tears now streaming down her face.
"It's not like that-" Tina said a little hurt, but Queenie wasn't going to give up on this.
"Newt agrees that Jacob should get his memories back! Don't ya Newt?! Queenie said forcefully looking down at a sweaty, pale Newt.
"Um, well...uh" he stuttered under Queenie's intense gaze.
"Leave him alone Queenie," Tina said glaring at her sister, Queenie whipped around to face Tina now full on crying,
"You know what, I don't need your approval, I'm going to get Jacob back and there's nothing you can do to stop me!" She said grabbing her coat and storming out of the room.
"Queenie!" Tina said rushing out to make her stay, Newt was left alone at the table processing what he had just witnessed.
Half an hour later Tina came back sobbing, "She's gone!" She said crying, "I can't believe she would leave!" Newt stood up and walked over to her trying to find something consoling and kind to make her feel better, but he didn't know what to say.
"Tina," he said unsure of what to do, then he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in letting Tina sob her heart out in his arms.
"Oh Newt!" Tina cried "This is all my fault, if I hadn't overreacted she wouldn't be gone!" Tina told him still crying. They stayed like that for a while until Tina pulled herself away and went to her bedroom. "Goodnight," He mumbled wishing that he could have helped more.
