I waited 21 chapters for that

Dan
A pair of bright ocean eyes appear on my laptop screen.

This is happening.

Phil's black hair is styled in a quiff. He's wearing his glasses, which looks absolutely adorable. As soon as he sees me, he flashes a bright smile at me.

I smile back.

He's wearing the same green shirt as he was wearing in the first video I ever saw of him. I can't resist taking a screenshot. I want to keep this moment.

"Hi!" Phil says.

"Hey." I say, smiling.

"So.. tell me about yourself." He says.

"I've told you pretty much everything. I'm not that exciting."

"I only know your name, age and where you live! Don't you have hobbies?"

"Yeah, actually. I love music. It's my escape. I play the piano and I listen to artists like MUSE 24/7."

"MUSE?! I love them!"

"Really? Me too! They're great."

We end up talking for more than two hours. It's not awkward at all. I already feel extremely comfortable around Phil. Which is weird, since I barely trust anyone.

"I really have to go now, it was so nice talking to you! Are you free to Skype tomorrow?" Phil asks.

"Of course! I had so much fun, thank you." I respond.

It's quiet for a moment, neither of us want to end the call. We're staring at each other through our laptop screens.

Phil suddenly speaks up. "You know what? You should consider starting a YouTube channel. I get that you may not feel comfortable doing it at first, but you're really funny and I think people would want to watch you."

I smile. "Really? Do you think?"

"Yeah! Think about it. Now, I really have to go. Talk to you tomorrow!"

"Bye!" I say, as Phil ends the call.

I close my laptop and lay down on my bed. I close my eyes and let the silence reach my ears, as I start to think.

Phil thinks I should start a YouTube channel.

Am I funny enough for that? What if Joel and his 'minions' find out?
Still, it's something that could be a lot of fun to do. Just for myself.

I open my laptop again and go to Webcam. Should I record it now? I mean, why not?

I stand up and stretch my legs. Where should I place my laptop?
I've seen a lot of people who film at an angle, which looks really cool. Maybe I can stack some books on top of each other to do that as well?
The thing is, I'm six ft tall. And I'm going to grow taller, I'm only 15. How on earth am I going to find enough books?

I move my desk and place all the books that I can find in my room on it. The stack comes to my shoulders. My mom's already asleep, so I can't go into her room to grab more books.

I look at my cd's. Maybe I have enough of them to make the stack a little higher.
I put them on top of the books and balance my laptop on top of it, closing the screen a little bit so I get that cool MySpace angle.

Perfect!

What am I going to say, though? It should be an introduction video. People have to get a good idea of what I'm like.

I quickly grab a sticky note and write down a few ideas. Then, I turn on the camera.

"Hi.

So, my name is [Dan].

[      ]

Nice to meet you.

And this is my first proper video, I guess.
