twenty five.

~a month later because i am a bad author and i don't want the story to happen in a week so yeah~

I have been talking to Phil for more than a month already. I still cannot believe it. We have talked about meeting before, but he still doesn't know I am Moon, and I don't know what might happen.
Mom has been away a lot for the past month. I don't know why, obviously she has been working a lot, but for the past few weeks she has been coming home later than usual.

I decide to ask her what's up.

I walk into her room, where she's typing away on her laptop. When she notices me, she quickly closes it.

"Hi mom." I say, as I brush my hand through her recently cut hair. She used to have really long hair, but she said she was sick of it so she cut it.
I remove my hand, but notice a lot of hair falls on the ground.
"Wha— Did I pull that hard? I just- Didn't that hurt?" I exclaim.
Mom looks at the floor. "I.."
Still in shock, I sit down on the chair next to her.

"Mom, what's up? You've been coming home late recently, you suddenly cut your hair.. and now this."

She takes a shaky breath.

"I didn't want to tell you this. Not yet. I guess I don't have a choice now."
She starts to tear up. Confused, I put my arm around her, making her cry even more. She puts her face onto my shoulder, sobbing. I try to comfort her by stroking her hair, but more hair falls out.

And then it hits me.

"Mom.."

"Daniel. I have cancer."
