Chapter 4

Corine woke up to a beautiful morning, the birds chirping. She opened the window to allow her black bed hair to be windswept by the morning breeze. Another day.

She took her shower and went down to a hot, steaming breakfast. She ate it like a wild animal and drank her coffee. She noticed Lulu's stare on her as she asked "How was your boyfriend?".

Corine spewed the rest of the coffee at those words and she could all but choked out "What?!".

"Oh, come on. You can't keep anything from me," Lulu said. She waited for a response but Corine had none to give. She was still coughing out her coffee.

So Lulu continued and elaborated "Well, I heard arguing upstairs and it always takes two to argue and only you were alone that night. And the other person, who else could it be but your boyfriend,".

"He's not my boyfriend!" Corine exclaimed but Lulu's smile grew. And Corine knew why. She didn't deny the fact that Dean was there.

"Well, but who else other than a boyfriend would even follow you on the dark, violent night to just meet you. Not unromantic, is it?" Lulu continued.

Lulu was not going to drop the subject so Corine decided it couldn't hurt to have a say in it, could it? "That friend just wanted to ask some questions but he was being nosy, so I saw him out,".

Lulu just smiled more and said "You really deny it, don't you? Let me spell it out. He's interested in you. He wouldn't be if he didn't run away just to ask you some questions. Nosy, of all-" Lulu stopped suddenly, aware of the last part of the sentence.

Corine smiled but didn't say anything. "How could you see him out?" Lulu started "I wasn't asleep until midnight and you always sleep way earlier than me. So how... I definitely would have heard something to know that you saw him out,".

Corine still didn't say anything which made Lulu frustrated as she continued "All I heard was a creak and a thump. I didn't think nothing of it at first but..-". Lulu suddenly stopped as she fitted the puzzle as she stared at Corine, suddenly astonished at what she might do to that poor boy the other night.

"You didn't," Lulu whispered but Corine went on drinking the rest of the coffee but didn't say anything. That huge smile of hers proved it.

Lulu was in scolding mode "How could you?!", Lulu thundered, Corine a bit scared. "Do you know how-" Lulu was interrupted by the repetitive slams of the door and she could see the rest of the men out there.

'That's odd Corine thought. Even Lulu thought it was strange and was too surprised to continue scolding Corine.

Chatter came up from the men when Ape arrived, he just grunted "Meeting!"

Everyone, including Corine, immediately ran into the meeting room. Lulu's eyes screamed "We are not finished yet!" but Corine pretty much didn't care as she stood in the shadows, once again, during the meeting.

What did Lulu know? She had gotten the easy life as a maid. For the thieves, it was eat or be eaten. If she didn't let Dean out soon, other people may hear and come here and be more of a threat. And she'll suffer something worse than that punishment. She shuddered as she thought again 'What did Lulu know?'

"OK!" Ape started and thus started the meeting. "This is going to be major!". This got their attention. Ape always said important, big and huge but never major! Ape continued "Tonight, we are going to rob the Blitz's house!".

Everyone gasped. This was... extremely more worse than the White House! "Are you nuts?!" Luigi screamed. "First, the White House, now this!".
