That was thrilling. Best feel that Corine kinda forgotten about her faith. The police were chasing them but nothing but a few 'shadow' bombs to lose them. Riddle was quite surprised that Corine had them on her but was nevertheless grateful.

"Why did you bring them though?" Riddle asked.

"They are one of my signature moves. Always have 'em," Corine said. Riddle nodded and they silently went back to the mansion.

There were no traps and that was a good sign. Maybe they could get in the mansion and no one will be the wiser.

And when they reached the mansion, they knew something, it's never that simple!

Ape was waiting at the entrance, scowling at the both of them like naughty kids who played past their bed time.

With no explanations, he just said, "Inside! NOW!"

There was no hesitation when Corine and Riddle went inside followed by Ape. Once he closed the door, he immediately shouted "What the hell did you think you were doing?".

"Doing what?" Corine asked, batting her eyes, all innocent like. In situations like this, it's better to deny everything.

"Don't act innocent, Shadow! It doesn't suit you, anyway," Ape said, "I already know what you did,".

Riddle was gritting his teeth, "Who told you? That son of a bitch?" Corine just looked at him. Obviously he meant Dean. But why such the bitter expression. Even she wasn't that angry at Dean! What was going on between them?

"I don't need to tell you, Riddle and who were you talking about?" Ape said.

"Who else? That rich, good for nothing bitch who put us in this situation in the first place!" Riddle shouted.

"Oh you mean Richie," Ape said, a bit shocked at how Riddle said it.

"Richie?" Corine asked, wondering.

"Yeah, everyone of us has an alias, Shadow and we decided to call that rich boy Richie," Ape explained.

Oh they mean Dean. Corine wondered what the heck they did to each other for this to happen?

"Anyway..." Ape said, "What you two did was reckless and dangerous and can jeopardise this whole gang! We only have a handful left thanks to that explosion and you decided to go out where the police will see you two, come here and take us out! What were you two thinking?!"

They kept quiet. They had nothing to say.

"Sigh..." Ape sighed, rubbing his temples, "We had one mission and it was to find the culprit who made Corine wanted and destroy him and any evidence,".

"Destroy?" Corine paled and Ape noticed that.

"Nothing," he gruff. "Just hope the stinking police didn't follow you here,". Then, Ape huffed off and the two of them wiped their brows in relief.

"Whew," Riddle said, "That was a close one,".

"Yeah," Corine said.

The sky hadn't lightened much yet. As far as they were concerned, it was still night out.

"Want to get a bit of shut eye?" Riddle asked.

"Sure do!" Corine said, yawning.

They walked together, smiling, holding hands.

But then they reached a fork and they said their goodbyes.

Riddle was walking down his path, clearly smitten by Corine but he knew there was one thing standing between him and Corine.
