Corine was disguising herself for the night. She put on a blond wig to cover that shiny jet black hair and to replace the hazel eyes with icy blue but Riddle had no need to put anything. He just wore a skinny black jumpsuit just like her while preparing the items for a heist between the two.
Riddle was a very good friend, helping her in the time she need something to forget her worries. He had finished packing and said "Ready?"
Corine smiled "You bet I am,".
We snuck out of the house and went out of the door, high-five ing each other for a good sneak out.
Or so we thought.
"Why are you guys dressed like that?" a voice said.
Corine groaned. It was Dean and he wore a startled and scowling expression seeing them here.
"None of your business!" Corine scoffed.
"Sheesh, Corine. It is wrong to ask when you are not supposed to be here, dressed like that with him?" The last word was spit out in distaste.
Riddle just looked at Dean and he looked back. The feeling was mutual. "What has that got to do with anything?" Riddle asked, angered.
Dean looked away, "Nothing but Corine," he looked back at her, "I thought Ape told you not to go. You are wanted and if you get caught, what's the point of all this?" gesturing to the manor, "even the ghosts think so too, you should be ashamed of yourself!"
Corine just scoffed, "So what?! So being wanted means that I can't have any freedom to even get out of these darn woods. I'm not in prison! I can still-" Corine paused and then with a look of realisation mixed with anger, "So you eavesdropped, eh?" turning from defensive to offensive.
"So you heard the convo between me and the ghosts and that's why you also heard me and Riddle and knew I would do this?" Corine stated the facts.
Dean didn't deny it and his expression told as much.
"How could you?!" Corine shouted, "Have you no sense of other's privacy?"
"It was an accident. I just stumbled upon it," Dean tried to defend himself.
"But you could have walk away and have no need to hear the rest!" Corine said.
Again, Dean didn't deny.
"Shame on you, Dean!" Riddle said at last, "Just get out of the way and have our fun!".
"And let you risk all our necks? Are you kidding me?" Dean protested.
"We are not kids! You... you used to never care. We always had fun without worry. Now... what's wrong with you?" Corine said, shaking her head.
"This is life and death!" Dean cried.
"And we have experience this many times!" Riddle roared.
Dean stayed silent and glared at Riddle while giving a soft look at Corine.
"We don't need this," Riddle spat at Dean, "Let's just go," he spoke to Corine.
They both ran off to the distance, freedom at last but before they ran off, Corine heard Dean said "Everyone's trying to do so much for you and you decided to play risk and throw it off. On your own head, be it,".
That made Corine guilty but she had no business to care anymore. She wanted to do this for the thrill of thievery and it had always help her destress. So why not?
Forgetting about Dean, Corine turned to Riddle and asked "Where are we going?"
"Would I spoil a surprise? Just follow me alright," Riddle smiled and Corine blushed, grateful that the dark was hiding it. 'Riddle is quite cool,' Corine thought.
