It was the Mayor's daughter. Elaine, Corine thought.

"What are you doing here?" Dean blustered out.

"Why not?" Elaine shrugged. "After all, this is Daddy's vault."

"Wait, this is the Mayor's vault?!" Corine said.

"Well, as I'm his daughter, yes." She was still casually holding that sword like it was stitched to her.

"Well, why do you have that sword?" Dean asked, perfectly polite.

"Why not?" Elaine shrugged. "It belongs to Daddy."

"No, it belongs to me," Corine said.

"You and what army?" Elaine scoffed. "You have trespassed on private property. Get out," she said that all in a quiet but menacing tone. Then she turned to Dean, "All except you, sweet pea. Everyone knows what happened. You got dragged here against your will servicing these disgusting bandits," Elaine turned her nose up on the group.

Corine could hear Dean silently gagging. What just happened?

No matter... Just get that sword back!

Elaine was babbling a bit so she didn't notice a stealthy Corine sneaking up on her and trying to get the sword.

Almost... almost!

"Not so fast!" someone grunted and carried me up.

Oh shit, a guard!

And a muscular one at that. Sooner than you can say, what the hell! more guards were appearing like some kid of magic trick.

But this ain't no magic trick!

"What did you think you were doing?" Elaine rounded on Corine.

"To get what's rightfully mine," Corine growled at Elaine despite being squeezed to death by the bohemian of a guard.

Elaine laughed. A pretty sound made ugly by the touch of sinister inside. "No, no. I told you once and I will tell you again. This is Daddy's sword. What you want with it is none of my business but whatever happens you won't get it. It won't help you with your trip to the grave anyway."

Fury sparked in Corine but she tampered it down. Getting angry won't help. Answering questions may.

How did Elaine get the sword?

Why did she think it was her father's?

What could be so important about the sword?

All questions met with blanks though. Nope, didn't work. Maybe getting out of here will.

How? That was the voice inside her head. She was enclosed in the bohemian's grip with the rest of them enclosing the gang and Elaine smiling, knowing one word and everything will fall.

Damn you, voice inside my head!

OK, calm down. Think...

Stall... voice inside head.

Great idea! Thank you!

"What are you going to do with us?" Corine whimpered. Let her keep talking and find a way out. Endure this!

"You don't need to know that." Elaine smiled but there's something off. "You should think twice about barging somewhere next time."

Corine took no heed. She suddenly felt something slippery around her lower body. It took a second to realise what made that 'something slippery'.

Eww. Sweat! From that damn bohemian.

Wait... She could make this an advantage.

She just had to keep Elaine talking.
