And I know

I took a deep breath and blinked my eyes when I felt the tears forming in my eyes for the umpteenth time today. Shifting my body towards the window on my right, I directed my attention to the fluffy white sky outside so nobody will notice the tears in my eyes.

Huffing out a frustrated breath when the tears still rolled down my cheek despite the amount of times I've blinked to get rid of them. Bringing my hands up to my face, I subtly wiped away the tear and closed my eyes to prevent anymore tears from rolling down my cheeks.

The scariest part is letting go

Without realising what I was doing, my hand reached up for the necklace that was around my neck. The wolf head that was laying snuggly between my collarbone was a farewell gift from Samuel and even though he gave it to me a few days ago, I could still feel his fingers around my neck as he fiddled with the clasp.

"Can't we do something else? I promise I'll revise on my own but now I just want to spend every minute I have with you." Samuel whined as he dropped his head on the table sending the loose papers on the table everywhere.

"We are together right now." When I bend down to pick up the pieces of paper on the ground, I felt his hands on my arm as he pulled me up and picked up the papers himself. Chuckling when I saw the look on his face, I tugged on his sleeve and placed the pen back into his hand. "Come on, let's just finish this set of papers before we go for dinner. I just want to make sure you're on the right track so you can still do your revisions when I'm gone."

With a defeated sigh, his grip on the pen tightened as he muttered a soft ok and continued his revision paper. "Wait, so credit note received is purchases return, right?"

Nodding my head at him, I watched as he read and slowly figure out how to solve the question. Even though we've been doing this for hours now, I still couldn't bring myself to just go home and rest because it didn't feel like I could get enough of just looking at him.

It has been a few days since he asked me to be his girlfriend. And ever since I took the 'yes' card, he made sure to scream it loudly to the whole of Ubbin Falls, letting them know that we're a couple now. It wasn't like I was regretting my decision but it was just the way he would just run up to a random stranger and share the news with them that scared me sometimes.

Several more hours later, I was proud to say that Samuel managed to finish the entire set of revision paper with minimal careless mistakes. Satisfied with the mark that was written on his paper after I checked it, he pushed everything aside from his table and pulled me up from the chair, tugging me out of his house in the direction of the diner.

We sat side by side in the booth of the diner talking about everything whilst waiting for our food to come and in this moment, everything felt right. Like I wasn't about to board a plane that was going to take me 4,373 km away from him. Like I wasn't about to –

Snapping out of my thoughts when I felt his shoulder nudging mine, I looked over at him from the napkin that I was folding into a rose.

"I know you told me not to get you anything when I asked you if there was anything you wanted because I wasn't working but um, so I um, kind of bought you something but you can't be angry. Because I didn't buy it for you, I bought it for myself but you have to wear it."

Shooting him an unimpressed look at his logic, I slid away from him only to be pulled back by him with a puppy look on his face. Wrapping his arm around me to stop me from sliding away, he reached into his pocket and pulled out something before turning it over to show me the wolf necklace in his palm.
