Sunlight tickled his face. It made his skin seem gold and his pitch-black hair seem a warm brown colour. It was truly a shame that the man beside him didn't go outside that often. The sunlight really complimented his beauty more than the darkness did.
Hoseok had woken up next to his friend. Their fingers were still loosely intertwined, it seemed both of them had refused to let go, even during the night. It was not like they had a reason to, even now. That was why Hoseok was still rubbing his thumb over Yoongi's knuckles, loving the feeling of home it gave both of them.
Yoongi was still curled up in a ball, his eyes closed and his breathing slow. He looked adorable with the few strands of hair that were out of place, loosely hanging over his forehead. He also looked a lot more peaceful than during the day. Probably because now he was automatically blocking out all thoughts from others. He wasn't constantly being yelled at from all sides, he was just draped in a comfortable silence.
Hoseok just looked at him for a while. It made him happy seeing his hyung like this. It made him happy seeing his nose scrunch up every now and then, it made him happy seeing him curl up further into the blanket, it made him happy seeing how his lips were slightly parted and letting out soft snores. Leaning forward seemed really tempting in that moment.
Two knocks on the door shook him out of his trance. Yoongi stirred in his sleep as the door got opened. Hoseok rolled over not letting go of Yoongi's hand, not even once.
The silver-haired boy standing at the end of their bed just looked at the couple with a smirk on his face. "Well then, do I want to know what is going on in here?" He asked gazing from the slight blush on Hoseok's face to their intertwined fingers.
"I know what you're thinking Jimin, stop it, you twat." Yoongi said with his eyes still closed. His voice was hoarse which made him all the more attractive.
Jimin just laughed at his friend's statement. "I'm not thinking anything." He said innocently stepping back and leaning against the wall.
"I've been your roommate for a year, do you really think I don't know you do ninety percent of your thinking with you dick?" Yoongi said. He opened his eyes rubbing them with his free hand.
Once again Jimin laughed. "Oh come on, I'm not that bad!" He said almost offended.
"Oh, I'm sorry, ninety-five percent." Yoongi said with a small chuckle. Jimin leaned back and let his head hit the wall.
"I did not come here to be offended." He said with a laugh.
"I'm sorry, it's just too easy. There's just so much to make fun of." Yoongi said. Jimin just shook his head with a small smile tugging at his lips. The playful disappointment was evident in his gaze.
"Please hit your boyfriend for me." He said directing his attention to Hoseok who had just been listening to their friendly banter. The aura in the room suddenly seemed just a bit more tense, at least from Yoongi's side.
"Not my boyfriend." Hoseok said. Jimin let out a chuckle.
"Yeah, that's why you're holding his hand and sleeping in his bed." He said.
"Actually we both fell asleep last night after practicing moving energy, which is why we're holding hands." Hoseok explained making Jimin nod.
"I'm sure that was what you guys were practicing." He said.
Yoongi moved and raised his hand. In the span of just a few second his palm glowed and shot an orb at the silver-haired man. The latter just raised his arms and legs in defence. Their small fight continued only for a bit before Jimin had enough.
"Okay! Okay! That's enough, I get it! I'm sorry!" He said trying to move away and out of range for Yoongi to hit him. His friend lowered his hand with a smile on his face. Hoseok was just laughing at the two of them.
"Anyways, the actual reason I am here is Mr. Dae wanted to see you." Jimin said. Yoongi just nodded.
"Alright, thanks." He said. Jimin nodded bidding them goodbye. He walked out of the room after giving them one last smirk.
Yoongi just chuckled at his friend's thoughts and shook his head. "You idiot." He called after him. Jimin just quickly closed the door in response so his friend couldn't throw more magic at him.
After a few seconds of silence Hoseok laid back down letting his eyes droop shut. He was still tired. Even though he felt safe and comfortable with Yoongi by his side he didn't get many hours of sleep.
Yoongi let his fingers slip out of his friend's grasp. Hoseok opened his eyes again feeling the bed raise as Yoongi stood up. The elder quickly stretched his shoulders before opening the window letting in some fresh air. Hoseok just groaned as the cold wind hit his skin.
"How are you not tired?" He said burying his head in the pillow one again. Yoongi shrugged.
"Because last night is probably the most sleep I've gotten in about five years." Yoongi explained. Hoseok sat up looking at his friend in worry.
"What? Why's that?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"I usually don't get much sleep. You'd be surprised how loud people's dreams are. Like if you think random thoughts are hard to shut out you should try that for entire scenarios, most of which make no sense whatsoever." He said with a chuckle. His words were like a joke but there was some kind of sadness and annoyance to his tone. Hoseok could tell Yoongi was really suffering from his gifts. Not only was it making people scared of him, it was also messing with his health. Hoseok could only imagine what it was like living like that.
The older walked towards his side of the room and opened up the nightstand. He took a small flask from one of the drawers, it was the one Mr. Dae handed to him when he and Hoseok had visited his classroom. Yoongi opened it and took out the pipette. He let the serum drop into his eyes one by one. The fluid seemed black and poisonous. He blinked a few times letting it sink in. He rubbed his eyes before opening them again.
"What's that?" Hoseok asked getting both worried and curious.
"Medication. I have it for the whole mind-reading problem. Mr. Dae has been basically using me as a test subject trying to find a cure, preferable something to control it and not completely stop my 'gifts'. His recipes haven't really worked up until now, this however does." Yoongi explained shaking the flask letting the black goo stick to the sides before sinking back to the bottom.
"That looks like goblin puke." Hoseok joked. His roommate laughed.
"I don't care what it is, as long as it makes me able to sleep, I won't question it." He said putting it away.
Maybe he should ask Mr. Dae what was in it. After all he wasn't going to be in the Academy forever. He wasn't sure where he was going to go after he had finished his studies, maybe the capital or some other big city where he could help many people. After all that was what the teachers expected from him. In any case Mr. Dae wouldn't be there to prepare his medicine, he had to do it himself. Which once again, was only what the others expected from him.
Aye fluff and friendship, isn't that nice? (calm before the storm) (nah just kidding 👀)
