Hoseok woke up, still living in a nightmare. Breathing was hard, moving was harder. He wished he had the short bliss of forgetting what had happened, sadly he didn't. He remembered it all. He remembered fighting his best friend and lover, and he remembered losing. He could still see the dark look in the sorcerer's eyes. There was no forgiveness, no love, just rage and pain. He wouldn't give second chances, let alone let enemies live, so why was he still here? Why could he still feel the stinging pain in his shoulder? Why could he still look up at the sky and see the emptiness? Why could he do all of that when he had lost?
Slowly Hoseok pushed himself up. He couldn't put any weight on his arm, his shoulder still hurting immensely. He carefully put his hand on it, letting energy run through his veins. He concentrated, imagined the glowing light healing his bones and muscles piece by piece.
Healing spells were never his best. He never had the patience or intricacy for them. Still, right now he didn't have much of a choice seeing the circumstances. His vision was blurry and his shoulder was broken, even a slight heal was better than none. He slowly took his hand off his joint. The smallest hit could break it again, Hoseok knew this.
Carefully he stood up and let his eyes gaze at the destruction around him. Broken pieces of the Academy still laid everywhere. He was surrounded by arrows, they were only a grave reminder of how close he had been to death. The spirits were still roaming free. Yoongi was nowhere to be seen. Hoseok had expected him to take his place as leader, but they still seemed to be without a commander. He could be anywhere.
A groan sounded from beside him. Hoseok's gaze met a trembling, dark sorcerer. Before he could react Hoseok was back on the floor, gripping his stomach as if he had just been punched. He let his body go limp, knowing that fighting back now would only break his shoulder again. He whimpered in pain, landing fully on his already aching spine. Yoongi didn't bat an eye.
The dark sorcerer just stood up and walked towards his lover, his steps uneven. He bent over him, staring at Hoseok's broken form. Blood was running from wounds that would later become scars, his face was pale, his breathing was quickening every second, his shoulder was dented and tears were brimming in his eyes. Yoongi didn't even flinch. That was what made the tears fall.
"Just stop it, please turn back." Hoseok begged. He didn't know whether the crack in his voice was from mental or physical pain.
"You shouldn't have tried to stop me, Hoseok." Yoongi simply stated. He smirked before casting another spell.
Hoseok shouted out in pain. He couldn't fight back anymore. Nothing could make Yoongi stop if he was ready to go to such an extent. He wasn't strong enough to end him, both physically and mentally. His shouts turned to whimpers, then to silence. Reality blurred around him. His world only consisted of the constant pain running through his veins. It didn't once let up. Not until he started to feel himself black out again. Only then did it stop.
Hoseok looked at his lover. He was out of breath, stumbling around. He knew Hoseok wouldn't run, he was too weak to, so he could afford to take time and regain his balance. True to his expectations Hoseok hardly moved.
"I'm sorry." The younger said, letting another tear hit the muddy ground below. "I just wanted to help you. You don't need dark magic, Yoongi. Please, repent."
His words were broken and quiet. In the sound of the commotion around them, Yoongi could hardly hear them, especially with the gasps and coughs in between them. Still, they resonated in his ears. He couldn't help but scoff at them.
"I don't need it?" He asked rhetorically. "you see, Hoseok, I do."
Hoseok breathed out deeply at the words, knowing another hit would come. Sure enough, Yoongi started another spell. Hoseok could feel electricity shoot through the muscles in his arm. It was almost as if his arm had fallen asleep and it was now being violently hit against something. He couldn't help but clench his fingers and shiver in anguish. It wasn't the worst spell he had felt, Yoongi was surely getting weaker, but it was still too much for his broken body to take.
