Hoseok groaned out in frustration, once again letting go of his tie and watching it unwind. It was his umpteenth time trying to tie it but it wasn't working out. He had never worn a tie, or a suit for that matter. He thought he might've remembered it from somewhere or that it was easy to figure out, the opposite was proven.
"Here let me do it." Yoongi said meeting his annoyed eyes in the mirror. Hoseok sighed and turned around.
The elder walked closer taking the black piece of cloth into his hands. He carefully tied it, making sure he didn't hurt the younger by tying it too tightly. He looked up meeting Hoseok's eyes. He looked down at him with such admiration and love, it made him feel almost shy. He quickly moved away.
"There you go, it's not rocket science." Yoongi said fixing the top of his shirt as well.
"I'm a hunter, not a prince." Hoseok said with his gaze still fixed on his friend. Yoongi had turned away, now picking up his jacket and putting it on.
"I'm not a prince either but I know how to tie a tie." He said looking up at Hoseok.
"You're close enough to a prince to me." The younger mumbled turning away again. He didn't know whether he wanted Yoongi to hear it or not, either way he couldn't undo his words.
The elder couldn't help the small blush creeping on his cheeks. He quickly shook his head trying to hide it, now was not the time to get flustered.
Hoseok took his jacket as well, balancing it on his arm. "Ready?" He asked. Yoongi sighed but then nodded.
"Ready." He said.
Hoseok walked towards the door, holding it open for him and then closing it behind them. The walk through the Academy was silent. Their fellow students gave them sad, knowing looks, their teachers patted them on the back in comfort. After all blacks suits were a synonym for only one thing; a funeral.
All the last things were now taken care off. Nothing was left to be done except for lowering Yoongi's father into the ground and letting him rest for eternity.
The elder hadn't shed a single tear. It made Hoseok worry. Everyone grieved in their own way but Yoongi was bottling it up in a very unnatural way. He wanted to be there for him, to help him move on, but it seemed that Yoongi had already decided he had done that.
Outside of the Academy stood the others. All were dressed up in the same attire. Black on black complemented with sorrowful gazes. Taehyung rested his head on Jungkook's shoulder, staring off into the distance. Jimin was stood next to them, watching the couple with a hawk's eye, almost waiting for Taehyung to make a wrong move.
On the opposite side stood Namjoon and Jin, both quietly chatting about one of their classes. They had become quite good friends. Jin was the eldest of them all, and sometimes in need of help when it came to magic seeing as he never used it before coming here. Namjoon was the smartest out of all of them, it abled him to converse with Jin on a level that the others couldn't. They almost seemed like adults, both in suits and conversing about a serious subject.
They had all found out about the news fairly soon. As soon as they saw how distant Yoongi had become they knew something was off. The news about the death of the well-known mineworker travelled even faster. The entire town knew about it no doubt. It only put more pressure on the sorcerer to make the right decisions. All the more reason to keep his friends by his side.
As the two walked out the group exchanged some sad smiles. Yoongi just ignored them and walked on, his orange-haired friend beside him trying his best to stay close.
Taehyung intertwined his fingers with Jungkook's walking along with the two. Jimin quickly walked up to them and threw his arm over Jungkook's shoulders, ever so slightly pulling his arm away from Taehyung's grip. Namjoon and Jin followed suit toning down their conversation just a slight bit.
All attempts at conversation from the others were shot down immediately. Whenever Taehyung would say something Jimin would give him a stern look. Whenever Namjoon or Jin would say something the conversation would end quickly. Jungkook was too shy to speak up. And Hoseok simply didn't know what to talk about. Yoongi didn't even acknowledge his friends' existence, staying quiet the entire walk to the cemetery.
Hoseok didn't know what to say to help him. When a person was crying he knew what to do, when a person was sad he knew what to do, but Yoongi just seemed generally fine. His gaze was methodical and cold, almost distant. It scared him.
What he feared most was that his friend would turn to dark magic instead. He didn't want him to get hurt but knew fully well that that was probably what was going to happen. Hoseok needed to know how much damage he could do, and more importantly how he could stop him.
The book would provide him answers but he hadn't been able to find the lock spell. He had tried them all whenever Yoongi would go to the lawyers or the mine to sort out the last things for his father's goodbye. None of the spells, both beginner and advanced were the ones used. The magic on that drawer was something much darker. It wasn't a lock spell, it was a protection spell.
Yoongi could open the drawer without any difficulties. The spell recognised him, it knew he was the caster, that he was the master over it. It was purely designed to keep strangers out, and Hoseok didn't know how to undo it. It only made him frustrated as time went on. The fear in his heart grew as he saw his friend slip further away into darkness.
The grim sky resembled them all. Mist floated above the ground making them unable to see the end of the graveyard. There were just pieces of cold stone, indicators of people that used to walk amongst them, and mud to the end of the horizon. It seemed never-ending just like the day itself.
Yoongi walked forward, it was time to end this.
I thought I should give you guys a birthday gift since I was feeling generous and writers-blocked for the book that I actually had to update today. There will be another sad chapter after this, I lied last chapter. Turns out once again some story parts are taking longer than I first thought. Oh well, more chapters for you guys!
