The suit felt heavy and big, just like he remembered from his youth. He had always hated it. The suit got stuck on every edge and often made him unable to move quickly. Still he knew it was for his own safety, and to stop his clothes from getting dirty. It wasn't much different now. Even though he had grown in length his muscles had mostly disappeared so it was still as heavy and big as before. It gave him a strange sense of melancholy, yet also a sense that what had happened once would happen again. He dreaded it.

Those were the only thoughts in his head as he made his way to the elevators. Next to it stood his friend, still wearing his sorcerer uniform. It was funny how clean and elegant clothes looked so beautiful on a mere farmer's boy. Even though the contrast was big it didn't show. He looked like he had lived in the city his entire life.

Hoseok greeted him with a kind smile but also one of pity. He didn't want Yoongi to go back into the place he dreaded the most, especially with the elevator. He shared the same fears as his friend. Still he knew better than to speak his mind, it would only make his hyung more nervous.

"Good luck with you father." Hoseok said putting his hand on his friend's shoulder for support. Yoongi just gave him a weak smile.

"I'll try my best. But like I said, he's a stubborn man." The elder explained. "even now he still wants to use my powers to get more coal out of the mine."

Hoseok sighed not sure of what to say. He had expected Yoongi's father to show at least some kind of regret but now that they were here, Yoongi at the point of going down into danger, he knew that he greatly overestimated the man's kindness. That was his weakness; he was too kind. He truly believed in the goodness of humans, it made him almost gullible. That was to be the only suited downfall for a sorcerer as great as him.

"Help him one last time, he'll talk to you anyway. He can't just walk out of the mine before his working hours end, if he would do so you can leave as well, there's no shame in that. Tell him what you want to say and come back in good health." Hoseok told his friend patting his shoulder. Yoongi nodded.

Hoseok always knew what to say. Even at the worst of times, he would be there with words greater than his magic and a smile stronger than his spells. His words were always positive but never lies, it was something Yoongi had learned to appreciate greatly. He figured Hoseok might believe in the goodness of human kind because he expected them to be the same as himself. It was a shame that Yoongi's father was such a poor example.

"Make yourself comfortable in the house, try not to break anything." Yoongi said making his way to the elevator. "I know it's in very bad shape, so just don't touch anything before it falls apart."

"You realise I'm from a poor village in the middle of nowhere, right? I'm used to a house about the size of that elevator, and with about the same amount of furniture." Hoseok said pointing at the black space on the metal.

All groups of miners had already gone down. The third group would go down as soon as the shift for the first would end. That meant that Yoongi had the elevator all to himself, something he could very much appreciate. He knew going down would be a hell in itself, he didn't need people staring at him as well.

"I'll see you on the other side." Yoongi said, half joking. Humour was definitely his coping mechanism, that and fiddling with his fingers. He did both as he walked into the elevator.

He kept up his act when the elevator started to move. His heart was racing, his lungs were clenching together. Still all he did was kindly wave at Hoseok until he was out of sight. That's when he broke down. He moved to the closest corner and held on tightly to the side.

He could feel the elevator scraping against the walls, feeling the vibration it caused throughout the metal. It only made his feeling of falling and being in danger worse, yet he knew that if he let go of the wall he would freak out even more.

He remembered exactly where he stood when it happened, even though it wasn't the same lift. He was right in the middle, surrounded by people. They were all screaming, clawing at the sides trying to get out. That was until the power got worse and almost sent them flying upwards. And that's just what he did. He gave into that force that mother nature offered him, it proved to be a wise decision.

And one he would feel guilty about for the rest of his life. He would never forget the bodies, the pickaxes having falling onto some of them, the uniforms having strained others. None of them were moving. They were just lying there, forever lying there even in his dreams.

He would be haunted by them for years. Nightmares from others were worse enough but his own memory had to haunt him as well. Yoongi wasn't a person who could go without sleep for a long time, he was made into one. He learned to expect not to sleep at all, to appreciate every minute he got and work with that. He had to.

Every bad grade he would get would make his chance to get sent back bigger. That couldn't happen. He never wanted to go back to that horrifying place ever again. The place where he was forced to work long days with dangerous machines, the place where every time he said no his father would cause him to say the opposite before even laying a finger on him, the place that didn't deserve the name 'home'.

Yet here he was. Feeling like he was falling again. Except this time he didn't see white, he saw black.

[Not edited please excuse the shitty writing, I'll re-read it next time]

Filler-ish chapter but it does have some nice character development. I actually intended the mine scenes to be two chapters, but here we are with two chapters and they're not even in the mines yet. Oh well, I guess that means more writing for you guys.

Also the trailer for the DVD, I'm shook. Like how broke do you want me to be?
