                    Chapter 14

After the movie ended, my mom texted me.

     From: Mom

"Dani, where r u? Text back. Come home soon. Love, mom"

     To: Mom

"I'm @ the movies with Tristan. Be home soon. Love, Dani"

I smiled at my mom's text.

     From: Mom

"This Richard, I mean DAD. Kk have fun. Be back by 10. Love, dad"

I laughed. "My dad said he wants me home by ten sharp, Tristan," I say noticing that he was looking at my phone.

He smiled. "Then we should have you home by nine fifty-nine." He draped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me close to him, walking off.

The car ride home was fun! Tristan and I sang along to songs that they played on the radio. They started to play Airplanes by The Ready Set.

"Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?

I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now

Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?

I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now

I could use a dream or a genie or a wish

To go back to a place much simpler than this

Cause after all the partyin' and smashin' and crashin'

And all the glitz and the glam and the fashion

And all the pandemonium and all the madness

There comes a time where you fade to the blackness

And when you're staring at that phone in your lap

And you hoping but them people never call you back

But that's just how the story unfolds

You get another hand soon after you fold

And when your plans unravel and they sayin'

What would you wish for if you had one chance

So airplane, airplane sorry I'm late

I'm on my way so don't close that gate

If I don't make that then I'll switch my flight

And I'll be right back at it by the end of the night"

After that, we pulled into my drive way. You could see my dad, Richard, looking through the curtain. Tristan and I laughed at that and climbed out of the car and to my porch.

"Well, I guess this is goodnight, my love," Tristan said in a sad tone, looking at the ground.

     "Goodnight, Tristan," I said.

He looked up and met my eyes. He then moved closer and kissed me goodbye. It was a sweet, soft, tender kiss. I felt like I was on cloud nine with that kiss. We stared into each others eyes before my dad opened the door interrupting our sweet goodbye.

     "Bye, love."

     "Bye."

     "Night, Tristan," dad said.

I walked inside the house and headed up stairs.

"Dani," dad called. I turned to face him. "Can I talk to you about something?"

"Yeah, what is it," I ask moving closer to him.

"I want to marry your mother and I need your approval and blessings in order to. So what do you say," he said nervous.

"You have my approval and blessings, dad. You love her; she loves you. I'm not going to stop you to getting married. I want you to," I say happy for his offer.

"Thank you, Dani. Thank you. I love her very much, thank you." With that, he headed up stairs. I went up after him and headed to bed.

After I finished getting ready for bed and laid back on the mattress, I noticed how much I missed Tristan. I couldn't sleep without him. He was like my one thing I couldn't sleep without. My big, fluffy tedy bear. When I finally fell asleep, I dreamed about Tristan and Tristan only. From the second I saw him to the second we said goodbye.
