                    Chapter 20

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I checked the caller ID and picked it up.

     "Hello?" I said.

"Hey, it's Ty. Any night terrors?" He asked. I looked down at Dylan. He was still asleep, curled up. He smiled in his sleep.

     "Nope, none last night."

"Wow," he said amazed. "How? What? You?"

     "Umm...are you OK?" I asked.

"Yeah, it's just that, he always has night terrors. I don't understand how he doesn't with you." Dylan slowly started waking up. His eyes fluttered open. They land on me.

"Mommy!" He yelled and plopped himself on my lap. I laughed at his sudden excitement and the fact that he called me mom.

Ty chuckled. "Nice to know you're like a mom to him."

"Yeah." I stroke Dylan's hair as he plays with the hem of my top.

"Mommy, I had a dream," Dylan said. I put Ty on speaker, and I nod my for him to go on. "You were in it and so was daddy. He tried to hurt me again , but you stopped him. Then he disappeared and we went to this magical land that was nice. The grass was green and we were in a meadow. We were happy and then we walked off to this really big house!" He smiled really big.

     "That's good," I say.

"Yeah, it must be nice to be there. Hey, I have to go now. Talk to ya later, bye." Ty hung up before we could say bye back.

Dylan jumps up, grabs some clothes, and rushes into the bathroom. In less than ten minutes Dylan walks out in a solid blue shirt, white skinny jeans, and a blue and white hat that read "Hot Stuff" on it. He looked so cute in the outfit.

"OK. Now, I'm going to get ready while you play on this," I hand him my phone to play with. He takes it from my hand and instantly finds my games. He starts playing this game called "Akinator." He plays and answer the questions on the game.

I change into my purple tank top, white skinnies, and black Converses, then brush my teeth. Dylan was still playing with my phone when I got back. He laughed and giggled at the questions.

"Awww, man!" He shouts. "How did he know?"

"He asks questions about your character. Who was it?" I say sitting in front if him. He turns the phone so it faces me.

"Me?" I ask. He nods furiously.

     "Yup!"

"Wow..." Damn. It's creepy how this thing had me.

"Hey." I turned my head to the door to see Tristan standing in the door way. He was dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans, a black solid shirt, some black Jordans, and a black hat that said "The Shiz." Shiz, really?

     "Hey back at ya." Awkward.

"Wanna go to the park or zoo?" Tristan asked.

"The zoo! Yay!" Dylan shouted. I laughed.

     "Why not?"

The three of us decent down the stairs and into the kitchen. We packed some chips, soda, juice, cookies, and sandwiches in a picnic basket. I grabbed some sunscreen bottles for us and headed out. I buckled up Dylan as Tristan packed the things in the car. About an hour later, we made it to the zoo. Tristan paid for the tickets and we entered.

"Butterfly!" Dylan pointed to a beautiful blue colored butterfly that landed on my top.

Through out the day we walked through the zoo. We played under a tree with a hose at the top that sprinkled water. We ended up naming every tree that did that "Magical Tree" because Dylan didn't know how water rained down from it. I didn't dare tell him how the water showered from it.

At lunch time, we chewed happily on our lunch. We chatted about some of our dreams and adventures. Dylan had told us this adventure he had been on with his two brothers to Quebec, Canada. How they visited some family in Montreal, and gone shopping in wonderful French stores.

Around five in the afternoon, we grew exhausted and drove home. Dylan fell asleep in the car, clutching his new teddy bear Tristan bought. Music played softly in the background.

"That was fun," Tristan said. I looked over at him and smiled.

"It was, thank you," I say honesty.

"When does he go back home?"

     "After school ends," I say.

"When does school end? I'm tired if this school year. Can't wait to be a senior. After Mark is gone, I'm good," he said.

     "In about a week."

"That quick? Damn..." He said. He pulled into my driveway and we got out. I carried Dylan to my room and laied him on the bed.

"Where are we?" Dylan said sleepily.

"At my house. Wanna change into your PJs?" I ask.

"Yeah, but I want a shower first," he said.

I pulled out his shower supplies and set them on the shower shelf along with a kids' towel for him. I put his clothes in the bathroom with his lotion.

"You can take a shower by your self, right?" I asked. He nods his head. "Good, call me if you need anything." He walked into the bathroom and started to take a shower.

Thirty minutes later the water stops and you can hear little foot steps move around.

"All done!" Dylan shouts. "I just need to put on my undies after I dry up."

"OK, I'll be waiting," I say letting him know. He comes out five minutes later in his batman boxers.

"I put lotion on my legs. I need it on my back," he told me. He hops on the bed and waits for me to put the lotion on. Once I finish with the lotion and blow drying his hair, I kiss him goodnight and leave the lights on.

"He in bed?" Tristan asks once I reach the bottom step.

"Yeah," I say, "all tucked in."

"Good. I got a movie for us to watch set up." He takes my hand in his and leads me into the living room.

Once the movie ended Tristan had to leave and I had to go to bed. I had school in the morning, and mom and dad didn't have to work for the week. Once I finished my shower, I dried my hair up a bit and took my spot next to Dylan. Sleep consumed me and I fell into a peaceful slumber.
