Chapter 22
"Dani, I figured out something." Mason said.
"What?" I said wiping away my tears. He looked down at me.
"I found these at your place in LA." He pulled out some clippings of what looked like red hair and a paper that had this note on it. "The blood found was O-negitive, and the hair is red."
"No, it can't be. It couldn't be." I shook my head.
"We could find out tomorrow. Right now we need to sleep. Night, Dani." I could tell he didn't want to carry on with this topic so I dropped it. We fell asleep together, wrapped up in each other's arms.

I woke up first in the morning. I felt a little better from what happened last night. When I looked around my room, my jaw fell. Someone turned my room upside down. My school supplies were mixed in with my clothes, art supplies, accessories, and other papers and photos. My furniture was all moved around and flipped. Who did this? How did they get in? Why? I got up from the bed and tried to clean up the mess. As soon as I touched a picture, a foot stomped on it making me look up.
"I wouldn't touch a thing." he said. I stood up from my squatting position.
"Did you do this?" I pointed to mess in my room.
"So what if I did. You seem more into him than me." he pointed to Mason who laid still asleep on my bed.
"I care about you, I love you." I tried to touch his face, but he slapped my hand away. "Are you okay? You seem different, Tristan." He glared at me.
"I'm fine, can't say the same for the others." he said through clenched teeth. His hair was spiking up in all directions, he was fuming with hate and anger.
"Others?" I slowly turned around to see a dagger held high above Mason's heart. "Tristan, leave him alone. He has nothing to do with any of this."
"He has everything to do with this. This is why I'm like this. He has you and now he has to go like the others." His eyes were cold, freezing like the Artic.
"Oh my God. You didn't, Tristan. You...you couldn't have." I backed away. A cruel smile spread across his face.
"Oh yes, I did. It was all me. I killed them." It felt as if all the air was knocked out of me.
"Why, Tristan, why?" I had to find out.
"Why? Well I needed you to come to me, that's why." He took a step closer to me. I took a step back.
"So you go and kill Tami and Aaron? You go and kill my daughter and older sister?" A tear slid down my cheek. His chuckle was cold and sinister.
"They got in the way of us. My first thought was to kill Tami, your daughter, but Aaron saw what had happened and I knew she would tell you. I couldn't have that happen." He said it all so smoothly and calm, like it was nothing.
"I fell in love with a killer." My words were a hush.
"Yes, yes you did. Oh look, the dagger is about to impale Mason's heart." I looked at my childhood friend. The dagger draw back.
"No, Tristan, please don't. Please, you can't. Fine, I'll go with you. You can have me, I'm all yours. Just don't hurt anyone else, please." I walked towards him. "Just don't hurt them, you've got me."
"He has to die, Dani. He'll only get in the way." He didn't bother to look at me.
"No he doesn't. No one does. Not now, not ever. Just take me. If you kill him, I'll be broken forever. Please, Tristan." He didn't look at me, but he didn't have to. His eyes started to soften then turned into stone again.
"He has to."
