                    Chapter 17

"So, why are you here?" I asked. It was kinda weird having Tristan's family at my house dressed up a little and me in my skinny jeans and minion shirt. Every one smiled at me. Ah oh. What did they know that I didn't?

"Well, we knew Tristan would be here with you, Dani. So we called your mother and asked if he could have his eighteenth birthday here." His mom said it simply.

"Crap, I forgot." I looked at Tristan who had his head bent downwards and looked at the floor. His eyes then switched over to me and a smile spread across his face. That must not be good.

"Mommy!" I squealed running to my mom. Tristan stood there with a confused look on his face. He then pointed to where I was standing to now standing and back again.

"How did you..." He trailed off.

"Dani, mind letting me go." My mom said. I quickly let go of her and shoved my hands in my back pocket and blushed.

     "Yeah, sorry."

     "So. Cake?" Mark asked.

"Pig." Crissa muttered under her breath. I held back a laugh because she was so right. Tiffany, Tristan's mom, smiled at Crissa's remark.

Tristan looked at Mark, and Mark nodded. Tristan then looked at me and smiled. What the hell just happened between the two?

"Why don't we get outta here while they set up." Lost in thought, I hadn't noticed that Tristan had takes my hand in his and was by my side. I nod my head.

We run out of the house and run to Tristan's car. We jump in the car, start it up, and blast the music to as loud as it would go. We sang along to "Lost in Love" by Big Time Rush and Jake Miller. We also sang to Travie McCoy's "Keep On Keep On" which had the guy from Panic! At the Disco who's name I don't even know. We ended up listening to "Universe" by Ghost Town.

"Are all these songs on the radio?" I asked Tristan. He looked good in those black nerdy shades. He wore a bright red, sleeveless shirt and black skinny jeans. Yup, he looked GOOD.

"Nope. They're all in my phone. It's connected to the AX Cord input." He pointed to his phone that I hadn't noticed. Damn, I'm getting more stupid by the second. "You're not getting stupid. It's kinda hard to notice. I do the same too."

We pulled up to the park and got out. The park wasn't packed today. There was one other car there. We made our way over to the swing set but this cute adorable little kid about three years old ran up to me. He wore a white shirt, black jeans, black Convers, and a white beanie. His blue eyes were like crystals and his wild black hair made him look like he was Emo. He was the cutest thing ever!

"This is for you!" His voice melted my heart. He even had the sweetest voice ever. He handed me a white rose and tucked his hands behind his back.

"Awww, thank you, cutie. You're so sweet. Its lovely." I say holding my arms open for him to hug me. He hugs me. His little arms wrapped tightly around my neck.

"You smell like my mommy," he said. "She smelt exactly like you before she died."

My heart shattered into infinity pieces. Poor kid. He lost his mom. That's really tough on a kid that young. I hugged him tighter, not wanting to let him go.

"Dylan, it's time to go." Dylan, the little boy, hugged me tighter shaking his head.

"No! She smells like mommy!" He cried out.
