                   Chapter 19

I woke up early the next morning. I felt something move below my chin. Dylan mumbled something in his sleep.

"Thank you for the cookies," he mumbled. I laughed.

"You're welcome," I whisper back, kissing the top of his head. Slowly his eyes flutter open. His crystal eyes on me light up. He smiles brightly at me.

"Morning," he said. I kissed his head. He closes his eyes as I do.

"Morning, baby. How'd you sleep?" He snuggled up closer.

"You know," he said. I nod my head.

"I know that part, but not after." He sighs.

"Fine, I slept like a baby," he said. I kiss him once more.

"Good. Now, c'mon, time for breakfast." I scoop him up in my arms and carry him to the bathroom. He brushes his teeth, does his hair, an does his business all by himself. He was taught good.

"Can I choose what I get to wear?" He asked.

"Yeah, what do ya want to wear?" He pulls out a black shirt, some jeans, and one other things and ran into the bathroom to get dressed. Once he came out, I found out what he chose. His black shirt read "Through the Ghost-Shinedown," his black skinny jeans fit him well, his Jordans were black and purple, his purple hat fit his head nicely. To top it off, he wore some rubber bracelets that read names of punk bands, many I knew well. I smiled at his outfit.

"All done," he said quickly. My phone rang and I picked it up to see who was calling. I handed him the phone. "Hi, JJ!"

"Hey, how'd you sleep, Dyl?" Dylan smiled.

"Never better." His brother chuckled. I signaled that I was going to get dressed and Dylan nodded. His hair moved around as he nodded furiously.

After I was dressed and ready, I walked out to still find Dylan on the phone. He giggled at what his brother was saying. He looked up at me an smile.

"JJ wanna talk to you," he told my sticking the phone out. I took it and put it to my ear.

     "Hello?" I say.

"Hey, did he have anymore night terrors last night?" He asked.

"No, he slept well." JJ was quiet for a long time. "JJ?"

"Yeah, I'm here. It's good that he didn't have any night terrors. You have a huge impact on him. Thanks for looking over him. We might be back before summer break next week," he told me. Damn, next week school ends? Time flies.

"OK, we'll be waiting," I say.

     "K, see you then. Bye."

"Bye." I hang up and put my phone in my pocket. I turn to pick up Dylan and take him downstairs.

"He likes you." I stopp before I reach the door.

"Excuse me?" I say. He looks down.

"JJ likes you. He won't admit it though," he whispers as if JJ could hear us.

"Oh really? Well I'm sure it's because I remind you of someone somehow." Dylan hugs me tightly around the neck.

"Hey, you're awake. Breakfast is ready," Mason says popping in. He smiles at Dylan and me. Happiness in his eyes.

"Let's go," Dylan cheers. We decent down the stairs and make our way to the kitchen. There we find mom, dad, Tristan, and Ellana at the table smiling and talking. Dylan and I take the two seats on Tristan's right. I was the monkey in the middle if the two. Mom handed me a plate of pancakes with chocolate chips for Dylan and some milk. Dylan looked at it hungrily, licking his lips. We all ate our breakfast and made our way to where ever we needed to be.

"How was last night?" Tristan asked.

"It was nice." This kinda felt weird to me. "No problems at all with Dylan."

"That's good to hear. JJ told me he has night terrors. Any last night?" I look at him.

"Once, but he fell asleep quickly. I called Ty after he had fell asleep. He didn't have anymore after that," I say glancing over at Dylan. He chewed on his strawberry happily. I smiled at him. "What about you? Sleep well?"

"I did, but I also missed you last night," he said sad. "I woke up, hoping to find you by my side, but you weren't there." I nod, not knowing what else to do. Once we finish breakfast, we all go outside and play in the back.

"Tag, you're it!" Dylan ran off, screaming and laughing. I chase after him, missing him sometimes.l finally catch him and scoop him up. He screams and laugh. We spend the rest of the day playing till it was dark. We watched movies and played cared games. Dylan schooled us at 'Uno!' and boy did he play good. He won ninteen out of twenty games. I won once because all my cards were matching and good. One turn and I was done.

"Night time, Dylan," I say. He nods and yawns. His yawn is even cute! How adorable! We got ready for bed and slept well. He snuggled up to me and fell asleep.

"G'night, Dylan. Sleep tight. I love you, we all do," I say kissing the top of his head and drift off.
