Victoria's POV
Just as I was about to open my mouth to reply the screen door slid open and in walked in Amagiri. "Sorry for interrupting but I thought you should know that everything for tonight is in order" He had barely spared me a glance as he spoke to Kazama. "Alright, sounds fine" Kazama said dismissively turning back towards me with a smug look. "Now what was it that you were about to say?" I ignored him as I examined Amagiri's blank expression, he reminded me of a loyal guard dog. "You mean the Choshu meeting?" I inquired raising a brow at Amagiri in question. His expression remained relatively blank but I caught a hint of amusement as we made eye contact. Instead of replying right away he seemed to glance at Kazama as if to ask if he was allowed to answer. A signal from Kazama must have allowed him to continue. "Correct, does this concern you? Being in enemy territory I mean" Amagiri questioned calmly. "Not at all, why do you assume it does?" He stared back at me expressionlessly as he answered. "You're with those Shinsengumi are you not?" I nodded curtly. "I suspected that you came here in hopes of getting information" I smirked up at Amagiri, "I did come here for information...but it has nothing to do with the Choshu, I assure you I could care less" I replied dismissively. "She's here for me, did I not tell she would come to me eventually" Kazama retorted smugly. Amagiri made a small noise of approval.
*Meanwhile*
No One's POV
"They're either at Shikokuya or at Ikedaya, we should split into two teams! I'll go to Shikokuya" Hijikata-san voiced. Meanwhile, Chizuru stood in the background thinking how stubborn these men were. Oh, how she desperately wanted to give them a piece of her mind but sudden outbursts weren't her thing she left those kinds of things to Tori-san. Finally after decided who was going where the Shinsengumi soldiers were about to head out. Chizuru stood outside alongside Sannan-san. Hijikata approached them both looking ready for battle. "If I were the enemy I'd attack us while we weren't at HQ" He reasoned. Sannan-san nodded briefly. "That seems logical, a lot of people dislike us" He replied. "Take care of things here" Hijikata commented as he stared at the two, but his expression soon turned to one of confusion. "Why does it feel like I'm forgetting something? Something's missing" He stated. It clicked to Chizuru immediately. "Oh! You mean Tori-san?" She inquired. "Oh, she's not here? Where is she?" Hijikata questioned almost obliviously. "Ah, yes I haven't seen her since...when did I last see her?" Sannan questioned himself. Chizuru wished nothing more than to face palm but refrained from doing so. "She went to her room a while ago, she got annoyed that you weren't listening to her" "Weren't listening to her? We always listen to what she has to say, it's ridiculous that she thinks we don't listen, right Toshi?" "I'm sorry what? I wasn't listening" Hijikata voiced questioningly. "Vice-Commander!" A soldier called. "Yes, you three try to stay out of trouble, nobody comes in and nobody comes out until we return. Understood?" Chizuru nodded her head firmly. "Hai!" She chimed. Meanwhile, Sannan just held a look of acknowledgement.
A little while later, Chizuru and Sannan-san were sitting in the Shinsengumi common room. "They were supposed to be meeting at Ikedaya inn" Chizuru spoke, breaking the long silence between the two. Sannan looked up at Chizuru with a sceptical look. "You have proof of this?" Chizuru was about to open her mouth to speak but she quickly closed it once someone entered the room. "Yamazaki-kun?" Sannan questioned. "Sir, they're at Ikedaya!" Yamazaki announced urgently. Sannan furrowed his brows and glanced at Chizuru, she gave him a look that said 'I told you so' "It would seem that Tori-chan was right all along" Yamazaki stated. "Did I miss something? When did Tori-chan predict that they'd be at Ikedaya's?" Yamazaki frowned lightly. "Shortly after we apprehended Furutaka, weren't you listening?" Sannan blinked lightly as he tried to recall Tori's words. "Of course I was...I must've missed that part over all the important information I was receiving" Sannan covered. Yamazaki hummed, only half believing his superior. "Well, this is no good. we'll have to send a runner to inform Hijikata-kun and his troops at Shikokuya" "I would offer myself to do it but-" "-Of course, Yamazaki-kun, you just ran all the way here, you should rest a while" Sannan concluded looking to Chizuru with a purposeful gaze. "Yukimura, go get Tori-chan, I'll send the both of you as a pair, that should ensure that the message gets there" Chizuru nodded rushing off to the older female's bedroom.
