Victoria's POV

I woke up startled. "Ah! Where am I!?" I slurred in a panic, this isn't where I fell asleep. My head pounded certainly from the hangover I was experiencing. 'I really regret drinking that much sake' I looked to my left and right only to calm at the familiar surroundings of my-...? 'Huh? This wasn't my room' At first I recognized the layout and familiar material of the walls and floor but on closer inspection, I noticed my this wasn't my room, these aren't my things either. A small table scattered with papers answered my curiosity in a split second. The was his room. "Hijikata-san" I softly whispered to myself. Slowly the paper screen door slid open causing me to jerk my head in its direction, Pain shot through my head both from the brightness of the sunlight coming in from the open shoji and from the sudden movement. I winced before putting pressure on either side of my temple in an attempt to ease the throbbing sensation. "You're awake" Inoue-san's soft voice spoke. I don't want to say that I was disappointed that it wasn't Hijikata but I certainly couldn't lie to myself at this point. Inoue was carrying a tray of food, obviously my breakfast.

"What time is it?" I asked groggily, wiping the sleep away from my face. "Almost noon, you've slept quite a while. Must've been tired from partying last night" Inoue chuckled. I awed at him. "Noon!? How could I have slept for so long? Ah, I'm gonna be behind on chores" I outwardly scolded. "Don't worry about that, Tori-chan, eat now and take this medicine. I'm sure you're head is killing you" Inoue smiled kindly. I gladly took the tray from him and began eating. I eyed the medicine wrapped in a small white paper. I frowned slightly, letting out a sigh. "Do I have to take this?" "What's wrong with my family's medicine? Not advanced enough for you?" A gruff voice interjected. I jumped outta my skin at his sudden entry. "N-no that's n-not it!" I tried to reason. Hijikata entered the room. He was always so graceful and handsome even when intimidating people he still looked gorgeous, it was honestly breathtaking. "It's just..." I made to speak but I was hit with a sudden thought. I was reminded of last night and how I fell asleep but also realized what would've happened after I fell asleep. Chizuru would've stumbled out onto the balcony after being teased by the captains. Those two probably had a heart to heart conversation. Just the mere thought made me jealous. A hard lump formed in the base of my throat. "It's just what?" Hijikata wondered.

I shook myself back to reality. "Hmm? Oh, nothing" I half blushed. A throbbing pain in my head caused me to flinch. I grasped at my temple hissing lightly. Hijikata stared at me blankly. "Take the medicine, you'll feel better" He told me. I glanced up at him then back down to my tray. 'I mean, it's bitter but perhaps the other captains were exaggerating. I've probably tasted worse in my time' I reasoned picking up the folded paper. I down the medicine quickly only to cough violently as the bitter taste hit my tongue. I almost gagged which I covered up by putting my hand over my mouth. I quickly swallowed, cringing in disgust. "Oh my god" I gasped. "Hijikata-San~" I whined after downing the gross powder. "You didn't expect it to taste like sweet cakes did you?" He mocked a slight grin on his face. I pouted at the fact that he was chirping me. "You're so mean" I mumbled lowly, huffing and crossing my arms over my chest. "Go get dressed, we've got training to do" He informed me. I looked at him curiously. "Training?" He gave me a blank look. "You didn't think your sword training was over yet, did you?" He asked incredulously. I shook my head and moved to get up. As soon as my blanket came down I realized I was half-dressed. I quickly pulled the blanket back up given my under kimono had been exposing half of my thighs, a direct result of tossing and turning during the night.

Hijikata looked a bit shocked and then immediately flustered. "This again. Can't you ever bare to sleep decently?" He said half embarrassed. My mouth gaped wide open. "Wha- I don't even know how I got here this is your room for all I know you undressed me last night, you perv!" I hadn't really meant it to be a hostile accusation but if he was gonna play the blame game I wasn't going to lose. "Why you-" He glared at me but before he could finish his words another figure appeared in the doorway. "Oh Hijikata-san, greetings. Tori-san I came back with some new clothes for you to change into. I washed your ones from last night they reeked of sake, I'm sorry" Chizuru piped up. I mentally facepalmed but refrained from doing so and instead just looked at the innocent girl. "Oh thank you, I don't know how I'd make it back to my room without you bringing me new clothes" I said truthfully. "Don't sweat it, I was concerned you'd drank too much last night. I'm glad Hijikata-san carried you back as soon as you passed out" She said informatively. "He what?" I gaped in awe. My gaze swept over the ravenette's form. Tall, dark-haired and handsome, practically every girl's living dream. "I think Kimigiku-San was a little sad when Hijikata-San left early. She really seemed to like him" Chizuru chuckled. I was torn between the girls innocent yet naive words and Hijikata's chivalrous actions towards me last night.
