Unrepairable

Part Seven

It's like everything slowed down.

I didn't mind though, I felt at peace for the first time since I was thirteen. I had given up, this jump would surely kill me. I'm only a weak skinny human after all but that didn't matter. I'd be back with my family, my best friend and half my pack. I wasn't good enough to look after my brother anyway. I wouldn't be alone anymore. It's was as if everything clicked into place, for the first time in forever a genuine smile took over my face.

Unfortunately that didn't last, as seconds later big arms wrap around me, successfully saving me and breaking another rib in the process. My smile instantly drops, looking up to their face I realise it's his beta. He's looking at me as if I'm crazy.. but maybe I am. With all the thoughts constantly running through my head I sure do feel it.

Beta boy gently placed me on the floor once the staring match was over, of course I won. I held back the wince as my feet hit the floor and hastily turned around to walk of. Sucks for me that he had already guessed I'd do that and was standing behind me. Inside my heart was pounding, I know an angry alpha is not a good thing but I couldn't think to show any emotions. I will not show weakness.

He takes a few steps closer stopping a foot from me, his eyes burning with rage. He gripped my upper arms in his hands, tight enough that they were going to leave bruises but I stared blankly at his face.

"Why the hell are you running from your mate?" He yelled. "Just because you've had a fucked up life doesn't mean you can kill yourself!"

As he spoke I saw his wolf fighting for control. I felt his claws extending, digging deep into my arms. The blood was pouring down now, I could feel it dripping off the end of my fingertips. My vision started to blur, I hadn't eaten in days and any kind of blood loss was critical for me nowadays. I didn't care though, he could torture me all he wanted because it could never be as bad as them. I wouldn't believe him when he said he was my mate, he was just like the perverted guard, trying to trick me. It couldn't be as bad as watching the people you love die in front of you're eyes. The majority of my arms was covered in blood now and I was sure there was two puddles of blood by my side, black spots started to cloud my vision.

Out of the corner of my eye I managed to make out the beta walking towards Damon. By now I was fighting to keep my eyes open but I didn't break our gaze, I wouldn't be the first to look away. When beta put his hand on Damon's shoulder his head jerked towards him, angry that someone had interrupted. His grip tightened some more and I tensed my jaw to hold back a whimper. When the beta cast his gaze to my arms as a signal for him to look he looked at my arms for the first time.

His eyes widened at the sight in front of him, his claws deep into my arms and thick red blood on the floor, my arms and covering the hospital gown. He retracts his claws, pushing himself away from me but pushing me back in the process. I was practically unconscious now, it was like a dream world. If it wasn't for the pains all over my body I would have believed I was. I stumbled backwards, legs immediately giving out underneath me. I closed my eyes, waiting for the the familiar impact. When my head hit the floor, a throbbing pain took over before everything went black.

Damon's P.O.V

After the doctor told me about my mate I couldn't help but feel protective over her. I couldn't imagine going though whatever she's been through. I sat in the hospital bed for hours watching her face and waiting for her to open her eyes.

I was mind linking with Nick, my beta when I felt her trying to rip her hand from my grip. I tighten my hold so she couldn't get out looking at her face to see her eyes still closed. I wondered if it was a twitch and she was still unconscious but when I saw her eyes flutter open and snap shut again, I knew she was awake.
