It had been a week after meeting Verity and you decided to finally call her to ask if she wanted to hang out.

"Hello?" Verity's voice came through.

"Hey! It's (y/n), we met last week, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out at all."

"Oh, yeah! Sure, I'm going over to a friends house though, maybe you can come with."

"That works."

"Cool, I'll text you his address then, come over at 2." She then hung up and you got a text immediately after. You looked at the clock and saw that it was 12, might as well get ready. You put on a white button up shirt and put on a dark blue sweater over it. Topping it off with some khaki pants, you grabbed your satchel and left. You glanced at your phone and saw that Verity's friends apartment would be a 30 minute walk. It seemed to be the nearest subway though. Guess you would take that. With a small huff, you began to walk towards the subway station and swiped your card. The ride was short and you were walking again, rather hungry having left the home with an empty stomach.

Glancing at your phone, you saw that it was only one. You stopped in front of a sandwich place, surprisingly below the friend's apartment. Still hungry, you entered the shop and looked around. Walking up to the counter, you ordered a vegetarian sandwich. You weren't a vegetarian but you felt like only eating vegetables for now. After waiting a few minutes, you sat at a small table, eating the sandwich quietly. You quietly left when you were finished and saw it was 1:45. There was a door next to the sandwich shop that led to the apartments above. You opened the door and went up the stairs until you stopped at the door numbered 322. You hesitantly knock on the door and a familiar face opens it.

It was cosplay dude and your face immediately flushed.

"Oh! Running man, I didn't know you were coming over," he said standing at the door. He didn't seem too keen on letting you in.

"Oh! (y/n)'s here, Loki, this is (y/n)," Verity said, standing next to him. "Well, let him in." She playfully punched Loki in the shoulder and he said ow with a laugh. He stood aside and you walked into the home. You saw a sheathed sword leaning on the couch and decided to comment on it later.

"Uh, (y/n)," you said to Loki.

"Loki," Loki replied, a warm smile on his face. He held a hand out and you shook it.

"So, what's with the sword?" you asked.

"Oh, that's just an old antique from my family."

"Are you sure? 'Cause your name sounds incredibly familiar..." you trailed off.

"Loki, there's no need to lie to him, I don't think his mind will explode." Loki then sighed and picked up his drink.

"I'm the god Loki, you got me." He expected you to freak out and run out of the apartment screaming bloody murder.

"Cool," you replied. Verity and Loki gave you a peculiar look. To be honest, you were too busy examining the sword, it didn't really phase you. You could feel the awkward silence that entered the room and turned around. "What?"

"Well, I was expecting you to... well run away in fear and think I was the old Loki."

"If Verity trusts and likes you then you're good in my book," you replied.

"And why is that?" Loki asked.

"'Cause from what I can tell, she can detect lies. I think." Loki then smiled in approval and nodded.

"Took you a week to figure that out," Verity teased. After that exchange, you talked to both Verity and Loki for a while, finding out multiple things about them and they found out things about you as well. At some point in time, you must have said something funny because Loki started laughing. It wasn't mocking, it just seemed to be more amusement if anything. You noticed how his smile, crooked as it seemed, showed innocence and happiness. A light blush lit up your face and Verity took note of that.
