There was no warning. Just a quick, powerful blast and time seemed to stop for only an instant before hell entered your world. The flames of fire filled your eyes, as the screams of countless Asgardians fell beside you. This was a massacre.

"Hear me and rejoice." The words echoed throughout the burning chamber. "You have had the privilege of being saved by the Great Titan." You struggled, a pile of metal rubble crushing your legs, some of it piercing into your flesh. You kept quiet, but your panicked breathing was loud, so damn loud. When you heard footsteps nearing, you stopped struggling and laid completely still, hoping to avoid being mercilessly slaughtered like those around you. Your eyes darted towards the large purple figure bashing on Thor. Your eyes quickly changed to Loki, who noticed you trapped under the metal rubble.

He did nothing. He couldn't. Not unless he wanted to alert the monsters that you were still alive.

"You may think this is suffering." Pain shot through you as that was said, the bones in your legs crushing and cracking under the stress of the metal. You grit your teeth and kept quiet, biting your tongue in the process, a metallic taste filling your mouth. "No, it is salvation."

"I hardly doubt that," you thought to yourself. Perhaps thinking would keep you from making any noise and avoid imminent death.

"Universal scales tip toward balance because of your sacrifice. Smile. For even in death, you have become Children of Thanos."

A chill ran down your spine as you heard that name. The monster that tortured the man you love to near insanity. It was only a short time you were able to catch up with Loki, having thought he was dead all this time ever since Malekeith. Now, Thanos had to come in and ruin it all.

A surge of anger rushed through you as you thought about it but you knew better. What could you do, stuck under rubble like this? You were useless and it would have been suicide to try to crawl out from under it and magically kill Thanos and save the day. It wasn't that easy.

Thanos had been ranting, but you didn't pay attention, you were too lost in your thoughts to listen. The pain was too much to focus on anything, until you heard Loki's voice. "The sun will shine on us again." You began to feel yourself slipping away, eyes shooting towards Loki once again.

You couldn't even pay attention to the commotion that was going on and saw that Thanos now had the infinity stone in his gauntlet.

You muttered out a weak, quiet no, only to gain the attention of one of the monsters. The talkative one walked over and knelt down in front of you. "Hm, this one is still alive, father."

"Let them be, I can see they're dying anyway," Thanos replied, his attention still on Loki. As he said that, you began to see dark spots twinkle in your eyes, your hearing dampened, unable to process what was going on around you. It was hard to hold on for so long, but your eyes looked towards Loki one last time as he mouthed out an "I love you" towards you as he attempted to stab Thanos with a dagger. A muffled clatter of the dagger enacted around the area, the last thing you saw was of Loki being strangled by Thanos.

Your vision went black, your body went limp, and you no longer felt anything, heard nothing, saw nothing.

————————————————————————————

Bright sunlight filters through your eyes, forcing you to blink in an attempt to adjust to the sudden light. You jolt up, the rustling of grass interrupting the silence that filled this area. This was a complete change in environment. The burning ship was no longer around and you see no dead bodies around you. You look down at your legs, kicking them to see if they weren't broken. To some miracle, they weren't. Your hands trail on the distinct scars left from the metal rubble that pierced your legs beforehand. You blink a couple of times in confusion this time and stand up.

"What the... what is this place?" you ask quietly. You scan the area and see a meadow of flowers you've never seen before, you look behind you to see a large oak tree towering over you. A large building is in the distance, but you focus on a moving figure running towards you with fervor. You realise who the figure is and begin to run towards the figure.

You see him. Black hair flowing behind him as his green eyes are locked on you, a feeling of exhilaration going through him as a genuine grin grows on his face. He's wearing the clothing from before, blue leather and a golden cape billowing behind him as if he were some superhero. Purple bruises decorate his neck, a reminder of what happened before the two of you entered this place.

The two of you collide, your arms hooking under his hips and lifting him up with absolute relief. Your heart swelled as he pressed light kisses all over your face. You set him down and embraced him tightly, the fact that he was right here, right now, almost brought you to tears.

"I thought I would lose you forever back there, Loki," you breathe. He tightens his grip on you and hugs you tighter.

"So did I, I'm sorry for not doing anything when you were stuck under there, darling," Loki says, holding back the mixture of grief and relief that threatened to pour out of him. The two of you stay like that for a few minutes, holding each other not only from physically breaking down but because both of you needed it too. You begin to feel calmer and loosen your hold on Loki, him doing the same and letting go. He takes your hand and squeezes it, giving you a content smile.

"So... where are we, Loki?" you ask, looking around the area once again.

"We're in Valhalla," he smiles.

"What? So we are dead..."

"Yes, but don't worry, come, I want you to meet someone," Loki says, taking your hand and tugging it slightly before pointing towards the large building.

"Do I know them?"

"Of course you do," he smirks, letting go of your hand in the process and begins to run once again, this time towards the building. This only leaves you even more confused but you run after Loki anyways.
